JTXR Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 I'm looking for a good dentist in Bangkok for what I think will be extraction of a molar followed by an implant. I DO NOT WANT one of these huge, multi-floor factory-like clinics that seem to be recommended to "international patients". I visited one of them recently (on Ratchada Road but best remaining nameless) and I had a very bad experience with the initial consultation, which involved being shunted from one doctor to another, none of whose names I even even have now.

On another thread one in Suk Soi 19 and one in Suk Time Square building were recommended.

Popular Post Richard5 Posted July 31, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 31, 2024 150% I recommend Thantakit. I'm in the second phase of an extraction, bone graft and implant. Great staff, discounts for certain cash or direct payments, high quality work with no up sells. They pick you up at your hotel or residence and drop you back off. And a mix of wealthier Thais and foreigners make up their clientele 1 1 1 1
klauskunkel Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Mahidol University Dental Clinic had 4 implants there, last one beginning this year. Chances are any one dentist in Thailand trained at either Chula or Mahidol.

Since 2007 I have been going to a dentist with a small practice, very gentle hands, very good explanation, never over-treats and has visiting specialists for endodontology and implants. I had quite a bit work done over the years. No one else to work in my mouth. Pornsak Dental Clinic. Sukhumvit soi 49 Bangkok. 2

I can highly recommend Asavanant Dental in Thonglor. They are not aimed at internat. market but serve more Thai market. It is not multifloor factory. It is a modern clinic, they don't sell you what you don't need. I have used them for 10÷ years. Prices are medium level. Check out their website. 1 1

Sigmund Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 In any medical establishment or any place offering services in Bangkok or Hua Hin, if I see a majority of guilable looking foreigners waiting, either I leave or become very wary on how they could try to scam and inflate the tab.

Possibly the grand (or baby grand) piano in the reception area influenced me. Professional enough.
Artisi Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 BCDC Dental clinic (Big Care Dental Clinic), well trained and an excellent level of spoken English. You will need to source address as they have moved since I last used their services.

Roo Island Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 Sametivej on soi 49. Absolutely fantastic with a variety of experts. All speak English

Sorry, my mistake. I confused BCDC with BIDC. (There's even a BSDC - can't these dentist be more creative?) I know nothing about BCDC. I asked mod to delete my post. 1
JTXR Posted August 7, 2024 Author Posted August 7, 2024 OP here. Thanks for all the replies. I'll check them out.
impulse Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 I had an emergency molar extraction done at Bumrungrad Hospital dental section just last week. Excellent experience, and they got me in same day. No appointment, though I recommend you make one if you're not in an emergency situation. That's after one of those heavily advertised "International Clinics" kept me hanging most of the morning trying to find a doctor to come in that day. The best they could do was "tomorrow late evening". So I hopped on the BTS and walked in at Bumrungrad. About 7100 baht, all in. Not cheap, but I would have happily paid twice that to get that tooth out on the day.
Celsius Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Absolutely correct. Especially avoid ON NUT area. Japan town has some good dentists. I did a crown in Thaniya Plaza 15 years ago still going strong.
Lorry Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 3 hours ago, Celsius said: Especially avoid ON NUT area. Yes, only hookers there pulling your teeth. No real dentists. The good people all left Onnut after Celsius and his friend Fahrenheit moved there, and it's a very BAD area now.

How many outlets all over town? How many floors are their main clinic with how many dentists? Of course these factories are privately owned. There is always an owner. I happen to know this clinic & they are great in upselling. Clinics which are highly recommended on travel forums one should be weary off.

Its a privately owned clinic, without any connection to the group you are sighting - mainly BIDC Seems you don't know.

You can count how many floors the building has (I think it was 2), and from the looks of the location it's obviously not for an international clientele. Their website seems to be only in Thai. 1
