Hamas  had plenty of opportunity to extend the ceasefire and free more hostages.  That's the difference Israel and Hamas.  Israel is retaliating for the Oct. 7 attack on its civilians by armed terrorists and the fact that Hamas refuses to release the remaining hostages it holds.  The IDF knows through long experience that harsh language alone isn't effective against Hamas.  Plus they got one more high-ranking official.  An excerpt from the BBC article.

Yea I read it, extremely detailed and comprehensive. One for the history books, or horror section may be more appropriate, some of the details are truly beyond imagination.

You are totally correct.   Lord Andrew Roberts and his crew have written the best available account of the Oct. 7 attacks.  It is factual and unbiased and describes the circumstances under each of the 1,182 victims were killed.  The report is certain to become the "go to" reference work on Oct. 7.

 

I haven't read a single negative review on the report, but most of the mainstream press has ignored its publication.  That's a shame, as the report deserves to be widely read as it refutes many of the false claims by Hamas supporters about the attacks.  I have a hard time understanding the thought processes of anyone who sympathizes with Hamas and it Palestinian supporters, given the horrific chain of events on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8..

Footage from Beit Lahia, a town in northern Gaza, showed hundreds of residents holding signs reading “Stop war” and “Children in Palestine want to live.” Protesters chanted against Hamas, labeling its members as “terrorists” and demanding their removal from power. Other demonstrations erupted across the Strip, with reports of gatherings in front of the Indonesian Hospital, where some protesters waved white flags as a symbol of peace.

“I don’t know who organized the protest,” said Mohammed, one of the demonstrators who refused to share his last name for fear of repercussions. “I took part to send a message on behalf of the people: Enough with the war.” He also claimed to have witnessed Hamas security forces in civilian clothing attempting to disperse the protest.
