Poll: Who will Kamala Harris pick to be her VP?

This poll asks who she WILL pick, NOT who you WANT her to pick. 

I will try to post the final results at the time of the pick when it happens (if possible).

Obviously votes AFTER the pick are garbage so please don't even do that.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz seems like a sensible, likable candidate.

I know many factors go into this choice but he seems like he brings only positives.

The only two I have heard speak ore Buttigeig and Walz. I think Waltz has the edge but Buttigeig struck me as sensible too.

I think Buttigeig is brilliant, but I am hearing he is a sellout to corporate interests.

Walz is attractive but actually to the left of Harris.

Standard political advice is to balance the ticket.

Shapiro is to the right of Harris.

Other advice is that Harris must be bold now to keep her momentum up.

In that sense Kelly is probably the least bold choice.

The others are probably bold enough.

As far as my own prediction I still think it will probably be Shapiro but because Walz is trending I picked him. But I think she can make any of those six work so I would only be shocked if it's someone else.

I anm also from MN, but haven't lived there for a long time. I figured he must be pretty bad given what MN has become. I think he takes it as Shapiro is a Jew who has some possible scandals. Even our beloved Fetterman is saying the dude is  bad hombre.

She ran away as quickly as she could. I have a place in Michigan and can tell you she isnt universally loved there do to her insane edicts during covid. Including but not limited to wharehousing covid patients in nursing homes which killed people.

Well both Bernie Sanders and more significantly Nancy Pelosi are pushing for Walz. So either way we're seeing a finishing line drama.

 

I don't know much about Walz but the feeling is that he would be better for the demographic that Biden did better with than Harris can (older white men) OR Shapiro can. So from a purely electoral POV even though Shapiro probably brings Pennsylvania, Walz could bring more in close swing states.

Guessing it'll be Walz. His 'Uncle Wally' likability and plain-spokenness may be just what the country needs to start healing America's political divisions. His rust belt appeal is also attractive. Pelosi, whose political instincts are beyond reproach after she helped coax Biden to step down, has endorsed him and this is probably carrying enormous weight as well.

MN isn't the rust belt and he certainly hasn't united people in Minnesota.

   Kelly would be my choice but he is a Senator and would have to give up his seat, another Democratic Senator will be appointed by the Democratic governor (Polis) , but whoever is appointed  will be up for reelection during the mid-terms that would favor the opposition party, and the Democrats can't afford to lose a seat in the Senate. 

    Shapiro seems to be the sweetheart of the Media, he  would help with Ohio, but he would hurt for three reasons.

 He is Jewish and there  those who will not vote for the ticket because of that, as unfortunate as it is, its true. .

He is a strong supporter of Israel's policy toward the Palestinian, and there are many , including the youth vote who will not vote for someone who supports the genocide,and apartheid policies.  

And he is a strong supporter of school vouchers , that will put him at odds with the NEA (National teachers Union)

IMO , if she picks Shapira, say hello to another four years of president trump.

   Tim Walz brings Minnesota to the table, has no negatives that I know of, He is very likable in a down to earth kind of way. 

  Pete Buttigieg is Intelligent, articulate, and likable, other than that I am not sure what else he brings to the table as far as enhancing Harris'  electability  . I think he would be outstanding for a major cabinet appointment to build up his CV  and a shot at the presidency in the future. 

 I don't know enough about the rest to have an opinion.

He also has a problem with the teacher's unions because of his support for school vouchers, which would defund poor school districts.

Walz. He's got that demographic thing going. A good balance. Shapiro very possible, though.
