The Tim Walz thread.

A soldier who served under Walz, Al Bonnifield, said: “Would the soldier look down on him because he didn’t go with us? Would the common soldier say, ‘Hey, he didn’t go with us, he’s trying to skip out on a deployment?’ And he wasn’t.

“… He weighed that decision to run for Congress very heavy. He loved the military, he loved the guard, he loved the soldiers he worked with.”

Calling Walz “very caring” and a “very good leader”, Bonnifield said Walz helped him and other soldiers when they returned from Iraq.

Another guy on the public teat for life

Yeah, this soldier that served with Walz sees it differently.

In any event, if you want hard left, vote Harris/Walz, if you don't, vote Trump/Vance. Easy-peasy

Megan Kelly.......oh dear. That's your go to source for news.....what a joke.

And you source that "quotes" an anonymous source is golden, got it.

Is there anything that she has said about Walz that you think is not true?

Are you claiming he did not reenlist and then cut it short and retire two years early when his unit was to be deployed?

You don't care if he did or didn't anyway.

He re-upped for six years, but cut it two years short, and then lied about it.

This will come up in a debate with Vance.  How does Walz respond if asked about this?

Do you think he'll debate Vance?

Why would it come up? Do you think CNN will ask about it? No one voting for Harris cares anyway.

Accepting all or any of these criticisms are based in fact ......They (the Dems) must have gone over everything with a fine tooth-comb and have pre-prepared responses.......Just as the Republicans did with Shady Vance's cat ladies and couch humping episodes.

Or they just know that the people that support them do not care.

As for JD Vance he had one deployment to Iraq as a Marinc Corps Journalist. Really do not know what he actually did.

In his book he said he never saw combat.

Sorry but he (JD Vance) is lying about it now and saying he was in combat abd Walz wasn't.

Not surprised at what he is doing lately. Yesterday he pulled a stunt at the same airport where Harris was.  Did he forget the fact that Harris is the sitting VP and one does not just approach her in this manner.  There is a time and place to speak to the VP.  It is not on the tarmac of an airport.

OK. So are Republicans finally going to take ownership for blocking legislation purely along partisan lines e.g. immigration which was specially blocked by trump sycophants  to deny a win for Dems and of course the USA

What would the Dems' immigration legislation do?

This......

The Democrats’ immigration bill, known as the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021, aimed to achieve several key objectives. Although it was not passed due to Republican opposition, the bill proposed comprehensive reforms to the U.S. immigration system. Here are the primary goals and provisions of the bill:

1. Pathway to Citizenship:

• The bill would have provided an eight-year pathway to citizenship for approximately 11 million undocumented immigrants. Individuals would have been eligible for temporary legal status for five years, after which they could apply for a green card. After holding a green card for three years, they could apply for citizenship.

2. DACA and Other Programs:

• Recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders, and certain immigrant farmworkers would have been eligible for green cards immediately, bypassing the five-year temporary status period.

3. Family-Based Immigration:

• The bill aimed to clear the family-based immigration backlog, reduce wait times for family-sponsored visas, and eliminate the three- and ten-year bars that penalize undocumented immigrants who leave the country and then try to return.

4. Employment-Based Immigration:

• The legislation proposed to reduce employment-based visa backlogs, make it easier for graduates of U.S. universities with advanced STEM degrees to stay in the U.S., and eliminate per-country visa caps.

5. Border Security and Enforcement:

• The bill sought to address border security through the use of technology rather than physical barriers. It proposed investments in screening technologies at ports of entry and provided funding for the improvement of infrastructure at the border.

• It also aimed to manage the border humanely and prioritize the use of alternatives to detention.

6. Addressing Root Causes of Migration:

• The bill included provisions to address the root causes of migration from Central America by providing aid to countries in the region to improve conditions, thus reducing the need for people to migrate.

7. Protections for Workers:

• It aimed to protect workers from exploitation and improve the labor rights of immigrant workers, ensuring that they are not subject to unfair treatment.

8. Diversity Visa Program:

• The legislation proposed an increase in the number of Diversity Visas from 55,000 to 80,000 per year, promoting a more diverse immigrant population.

In summary, if the Democrats’ immigration bill had not been blocked by Republicans, it would have resulted in a significant overhaul of the U.S. immigration system, providing a pathway to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants, addressing visa backlogs, enhancing border security with modern technology, and promoting humane treatment of migrants and asylum seekers.

Thanks, source?

Thoughts on the school funding for kids lunches where 70 people were charged under his watch ?

Just read the Fox posted link. Yep, 70 chatted with trying to rip off a program which addresses supporting working middle class families and the poor … how could he? Having taught middle and high school students for 16 years in a low income state … I fully support providing meals for students. But, but taxes! Yes, what I want to see is, services for citizens for the taxes we pay. That is my focus. Thus, you might guess, I also support joining the rest of the world’s democracies in providing a national healthcare system. Should leave no doubt my Absentee Ballot will be mailed from Thailand causing some MAGA folk to decry either mail ballots and or votes coming from outside the country.

Already been covered...reported by Walz in 2020 to the authorities who took action to investigate.
