Nerve Conduction & EMG Report

Featured Replies

This test was taken on my right hand, to check for carpal tunnel syndrome.

(Symptom was a numbness on the right thumb pad)

What exactly does it say?

A little confusing, as at the end, it says  > Conclusion : No electrophysiologic evidences of median neuropathy at the wrist on the right side.

I had one of these for my legs to lumbar. Showed weekness in the electric current response. So my evaluation of the test for nerves of spine and back, was that I had nerve damage, which they new before.

The CT scans, xrays, MRIs, already showed this up.

I have had carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists, resolved with surgery 20-30 years ago.

The OP certainly does not have CTS, he would know all about it if he did.

The pain alternates between a dull ache, burning, and an electric shock sensation, and guarantees sleepless nights until it is resolved temporarily by cortisone injections, or permanently with surgery to relieve the pressure on the nerve.

Way beyond my ability to interpret. Needs to be read by the specialist who ordered the test and in the context of the clinical picture.

Thank you very much for your response, Sheryl.

If OP is handy to Bangkok, Dr. Wicharn at BNH interpreted my Nerve Conduction tests for me in very clear terms.  Excellent English.

No, I never experienced any of the above symptoms, up to now.

As advised above, I will consult a specialist and see.

Dr. Wicharn is a spine dpecialust. To knterpret this test OP needs a hand specialist.

@ravip surely you  already saw one? If not,  then who ordered this test?

@Sheryl It was Dr Graiwat Teeranet at the Medical Development Clinic that ordered this test.

Whild I cannot read the actual results, the conclusion seem to suggest a possible issue with the radial (not ulnar) nerve

Thank you very much Sheryl. Appreciate very much your valuable advice,  always.

The result does not support the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome. I wouldn’t say this means it is ruled out, though.
