what with all the visa overhauls, the porous borders,

unlimited 2 month T visas etc - why should I jump through any hoops, much less have a face to face with a sourpuss IO?

If anything it's an excuse to go to Laos/Cambodia/Nam/Bali/Phils/wherever for a few dirty days away from the Mrs.

lord knows I could do with a bit of that right now!!

bob.

So then, you are seriously thinking about ending your marriage?

What does your wife think about that, one wonders....

Retirement method. Pseudo monk wedding to appease the family and villagers. Flexible and freedom is always accessible.

Isn't it 1900 baht for each 180 day extension? i saw George post saying only 1 DTV allowed

If you say so.

It's multi entry.

No need to ever visit immigration for extensions, 180 days on every entry.

Without wanting to delve into the mind of Bob, or whatever AI bot he is, made me think a little.

Me and Mrs G were discussing a couple of evenings ago maybe returning to Thailand.

Then we  got in to the hassles for me.

In the US Mrs G is a Permanent Resident, soon to be citizen. No 90 day checks, no money in the bank, apart from the fact she can't vote she looks just like me.

I just don't think I'm ready for all that hassle again. Just bring in something looking like when Thai spouses go to the West and maybe I'll think again.

Foreign wives get easy citizenship in Thailand.

Only takes being married a year.

What's the big deal. An agent can handle everything. 90 day report is online.

You make a valid point Bob. However, often "don't fix what ain't broke" can apply. Yes there are many visa options available that can now be used BUT just as quickly as they came, they can be withdrawn or changed.

If that happens you may have to start the marriage visa process all over again.

The only thing consistent is the inconsistency.

If you have something that works and does the job, why mess with it.😀

I find the marriage ext  quite simple..  and you only need to keep 400k in the bank  2 months before  and during the  under consideration period

I keep a seperate acct for this so ..  it's always available

it's only a 1900 Baht fee  plus 1 trip to the bank for a letter and 2 month statement

staff @ Hua Hin imm, are very polite and easy to deal with .    and it's only 15 mins from home

the only pain in the *** is having to sign the paperwork in duplicate so thats like 80 times
