Popular Post Galong Posted August 20 Popular Post Posted August 20 Nepotism isn't "new chapter" in Thai politics. 🤦 The citizens of this great nation did NOT vote for her. This is the opposite of Democracy. I do wish her luck and hope her focus is on the betterment of the nations for ALL Thais at all levels of society. 🤞🤞🤞 2 3

So, not even they understand that her youth, ideas and mindset has nothing to do with Thai politics. They need a reminder, that the old dinosaur is still in control of the wheel and when to fill up the gas for moving in a certain direction. 1 1 2

Below statement could have been stronger in that respect. "Shared values of democracy" So in other words Mr Godec thinks Thailand shares democratic values with western countries, or was his statement meant ironically? "In the United States, Ambassador to Thailand, Robert F. Godec, extended his congratulations and affirmed the U.S.’s desire to strengthen its friendship and strategic partnership with Thailand. ": no it is not the opposite of Democracy, many parliamentary systems the people do not elected a PM rather the people vote and elect MPs who in turn elect the PM very common system of Democracy 2 1

The whole family is historically a sad story. Patti will end up embarrassed or worse because of Tony's greed and ego. Sad times for the Thai people. Pita was voted in and her name wasn't on any ballots...WTF

The world sees what is happening but have no say in it. Only a Thai can allow this to happen in the government. The rules that were changed and things Thaksin set in motion have played out perfectly so far. Even he is getting his letter of innocence. Next the daughter and daddy will be sending for Yingluck to return and making this happen for her using their power. 6 months tops and she will be free to roam the world again. Then daddy and Yingluck can advise Shinawatra into oblivion.

Her party and her won the 2nd highest votes in the land. As to why the MFP can’t formed the government and why Pita can’t be the PM, I don’t need to repeat recent history to you. And blaming the system is flawed argument coz Thailand political model is such that the people do not chose the PM directly. Edited August 22 by Hunz Kittisak
