An accident occurred during the morning of September 2,  on the Chaiwan-Kham Lao Road in Chaiwan District, Udon Thani Province, when a car lost control on a curve and plunged into a roadside body of water. The accident resulted in the death, from drowning, of one male victim, a health worker from the Kham Lao Health Promotion Hospital. Divers were required to extract the body from the submerged vehicle.

Rescue teams from various organisations, including the Songsermtham Divers from Nong Han, Sawang Metha Rescue, and Sawang Daen Din Rescue, responded promptly to the scene. Despite their efforts, they were unable to save the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased was later identified as Mr. Narongsak (surname withheld), aged 25, a public health academic working at the Kham Lo Subdistrict Health Promotion Hospital.

Mr. Apiwat Pitupong, the Public Health Officer of Chai Wan District, confirmed that the deceased was employed at the hospital. He was single and had no children. Despite residing near his workplace, he would often travel back to his hometown in Ku Kaew District to visit his parents on weekends. It is believed that he was driving at high speed when he lost control of the vehicle, leading to the fatal accident. The road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.

Authorities have documented the incident, and the body has been sent to Chai Wan Hospital for further examination.
