"Protect World-Class Tourist Image...."

Did I miss something?

Where is that World-class thing?

And how to protect an image what doesn't exist?

If I hear people in my country talking about their visit to Pattaya it doesn't have to do with "world-class"but cheap accomodations and cheap girls or cheap food. Some even did not see the beach.

So I reckon Pattaya will not see many "World-class tourists at all. 😂

Well I haven't been to Pats for a while :cheesy:

However, they failed to mention what world they are referring to. One in our solar system or, an drug induced world.

Haven't been there in years and if the wife and I want a quick beach get away, we'll got to Hua Hin and stay at or near Takiap Thong village where the beach is nice and uncrowded and the wife can still get a 1.5 hour oil massage on the beach for around $300 baht.

oil massage on the beach

walk  a block away and get 2 hours for 600 and no sand

Thailand needs to enforce all the illegals in the country and not just Pattaya.

Even the ones doing home duties at politicians, senior armed forces and hi so's  homes.

Pattaya is not world class and doesn't haver much of an image. Anyone who's lived here long enough also knows the spiel the authorities put out is bs, and the authorities themselves also know it, but they must be seen to be spewing it. The place isn't even class. It just is what it is and the needy and trying will always flock to suck places to 'earn' a crust.

Pattaya authorities detained several illegal immigrant beggars on Thursday to protect the city’s world-class tourism image.

At 6:00 PM on September 26th, Chonburi Immigration, Pattaya City officials, and the Chonburi Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office, jointly launched a crackdown on illegal immigrants begging in Pattaya. The authorities said the beggars were causing damage to the image of the city, which is a world-class tourist destination.

Officials inspected areas around Wat Chaimongkol on Pattaya Second Road and along Pattaya Beach, both of which are popular with tourists. They said immigrants had been using these locations to beg for money from tourists, causing annoyance.

Some even brought small children with them, which authorities suspected might not belong to them and could be victims of a human trafficking network. Others were elderly, and some appeared disabled to evoke sympathy from passersby. They would sit on the sidewalks, reaching out for money as tourists walked past them.
