Toppings for toast?

Isn't that pretty much a Welsh Rarebit with ham?  Does sound good though 👍


And, if it hasn't been suggested (i've not read the whole thread) Wholemeal or Rye toast (none of this white stuff) spread with Marmite, then Hummus and topped with sliced cucumber.

Peanut butter is great on toast, especially if home-made without much salt. A dab of Thai sweet chilli sauce is good with it.

Hard to beat (excuse the pun) scrambled duck eggs with butter, and a few rashers of bacon, plenty of mushrooms, and onions (fried in the bacon fat) with a little HP brown sauce.

 

Don't forget the salt n pepper!

Well, the jam to be reckoned as healthy? No.

And water boiled beans are ok, but probably not tasty? And toast is not healthy either.

But we would agree it's impossible to live healthy. Even the most delicious fish got most delicious micro-plastic.

So, at the end we can only limit the extent of "poison".👍

I think the key to eating healthy is to eat real food. That's it.

 

I don't think it matters if you eat low carb, high carb, red meat, eggs, lard, butter, whatever. 

 

Eat real food.

 

The generations that didn't eat processed crap experienced much better health and longevity.

 

Now, people are getting diseases 20 years before their grandparents did. It's cos of the processed crap.

 

Have you seen how much bread and pasta Italians eat? It's not unhealthy. How much butter the French eat. How many potatoes the Irish eat. And cooking with lard, not cooking oil. And how much rice Asians eat.

 

Previously generations were healthy on these foods.

 

The poison is highly processed edible factory substances that they can legally call "food"...the mind boggles as to what industrial processes were needed to create it. It's not food!

I've found the solution already, high carb low fat, my BMI and blood tests show that. Many guys overweight are still searching, often with fad diets and nonsense, usually including nuts and seeds and avocados. What's your BMI and blood results like?

It's pretty good. BMI 23, BP 120/75, 188cm, 83kg, Gluc. 95. Everyday fresh salad,  lot of water, exercises 30 min/daily, 1 hr walking my dog, biking, when it's not too hot. Socialising.

everyday fresh salad will do little, mostly water. You missed LDL mine is 83, triglycerides 76, hba1c 5.2, yours?

blood pressure 109/62 BMI 23

With my age of 78 I like to eat tasty quality AND healthy food. My weight is ok, same as LDL 99 or HDL 62. TG 114. 

Half of the year we stay in our beach house, so I can swim every day and use my bike or just walking in the sand, which is a good foot massage.

no need for you to be frightened of jam on toast then, usually it's the fat diabetics who are carb phobic

My favorite is marmalade, then cheese, then under the grill.
