What IS the new regulation, and what does DEE signify? I thought they were a company who transferred Bht to GBP, or other.

If you think marketing and commercial, is a name that stand as a symbol for Good Delivery, as they combine Dee which is Good in Thai and Delivery in English.

The new regulation is that payment is on hold for 5 days after you get the delivery, which gives you time to complain, as well as they need more information from the seller on the package and sender information in the systems.

What's the Thai word for Delivery? Would make it more understandable for many many Thais.

To add another layer of protection, the government is introducing a five-day payment hold. This grace period gives buyers time to inspect their purchases and request refunds if something’s amiss.

The only bit worth having.

Thisc seems like a good idea.

Many people have been scammed by COD  online delivery.

I would suggest the majority conned by convincing advertising on facebook.

Protection from these scammers is long overdue.

I would point out that Lazada and Shopee in my experience have good return systems in place for receiving items that are defective or not as described.

"I would point out that Lazada and Shopee in my experience have good return systems"

About Lazada, I agree with you but with Shopee I have very bad experiences and will never come back there.

100% right! All the other regarding information and names can easily be faked.

Did you check Thai media to see whether there isn't also a purely Thai name for the service? Would have been better, of course, also to have used the English  "Good"  instead of "Dee," to make you and other farang abysmally ignorant of Thai, despite having lived in Thailand for years, more comfortable.

How do YOU know how long I have lived in Thailand? And that I do not speak or read Thai? My suggestion was to make it easier for Thais to understand.

From your forum posts, obviously. I haven't talked to Immigration about you, the only reliable source. You may PM your real name and passport number, however.

But you didn't check Thai media to verify there isn't an equivalent name in Thai already for Thais.

this is just the first step of them eventually banning COD
putting content details etc on the parcel will just make the scam parcel look just like a genuine parcel ordered from Lazada or shopee
as they already have such details
people will still just pay the money thinking someone else in family ordered

There are many AN members who do not reside in LOS.

This is good for scanners but legitimate sellers will most likely eliminate cod shipping

Why would they stop cod if the are legitimate? Its not too much trouble to provide the additional info and its probably the burden going to Lozada or shoppee to include it as they produce the labels? If your referring to the delay in payment I'm sure that will be adjust somehow to something shorter and a delay would be make good business sense if shortened.

My God! What are you talking about? Where did I say that delivery is called Dee in Thai? Have you totally lost all concepts?

I stated that Dee, translated to English means Good. I also posted that was the commercial meaning that promote the concept in a marketing view.

I can develop that a bit for you as a work as a professional in digital marketing. In Thailand they like to mix English and Thai, as they still se that as modern marketing and a little bit trendy and tough. Something that the western world experienced about 20-30 years ago. Still used, but not in common marketing.

In this specific case, Dee Delivery, gets the main meaning of "Good delivery". As it is connected to a concept that will be fighting scam and criminal activities the word Dee/Good, also provides a feeling of trust and safety to the buyer.

Have we got rid of all strange and confused things now? So, the meaning is Good Delivery, which provides a sense of trust and security.

Perhaps you need to learn how to write a proper sentence first before you chastise someone else. Also learn to read as I wrote "where did you get the English meaning of Dee equates to delivery". Go back and read the sentence you wrote. The only strange thing I got is your post and is typical for a keyboard warrior that gets triggered so easily.

Ok, let´s go back. What is wrong here now?

What I posted above is the meaning of the full concept Dee Delivery as Good Delivery. At that same time explaining Dee is Good in Thai and also explanation of the combination. I never say that Dee means delivery. What I say is that they combine Dee which is Good in Thai, and Delivery as a word in English.

So, you coming here and pointing out that it´s not grammatically correct English and sentence building, is just an excuse because you do not want to own up to that you did not get what everybody else already have understood.

So, perhaps it´s you that need to understand it´s an international forum, and everyone is not English natives. Something that you that are, seems to use as something superior. What superior? You have so many versions of the language that there is nobody who know who is right. 🤣

Perhaps you just got butt hurt for little to no reason because I pointed out your error. Being an international forum has nothing to do with you writing in English or writing a sentence inaccurately. Now your deflecting and poorly at that. I never said anything about being superior so go back a read what I wrote as I only asked a question.

I had an item I ordered prepaid from Lazada recently that arrived to my home broken and leaking, as could be seen from the exterior of the package. Thus I refused acceptance of the package, which I had already paid for via bank card.

At that point, via the Lazada messaging system, I tried to contact the Thailand-based seller. Over multiple days, the seller never even acknowledged the Lazada messages.

During that same time, I repeatedly tried calling Lazada's customer service phone number during their normal business hours. Every time, I got a recording and told to hold for the next available operator. Then within a few minutes each time, the call was just disconnected, dropped.

During that time, I also tried to contact Lazada via their online chat support channel during the business day when they claim to have live chat support operators. Each time, all I got was an automated chatbot response system that didn't offer any kind of option for my situation. Never was able to connect to a live chat person.

Lazada, IMHO, is a AGGRAVATING MESS if you have to deal with any problems with their orders.

I'm loving fine right now and messed nothing up. I asked a question and now apparently live rent free in your head. Deflecting as usual. Don't get so triggered over your small error, its not good for your health.
