Fire Destroys Three Vehicles in Parking Garage: Bangkok
A fire broke out early on October 19, destroying three vehicles in a parking garage on Soi Thoet Thai 55, Thoet Thai Road, Phasi Charoen District, Bangkok. Firefighters from Bang Khae Fire and Rescue Station and rescue volunteers responded to the emergency. At around 07:05 the 199 emergency hotline received a report of the fire, prompting the dispatch of fire crews to the scene. Upon arrival, they found three vehicles engulfed in flames inside the garage. Firefighters quickly deployed four water hose-lines to bring the blaze under control, and by 7:30 the fire had been extinguished. The vehicles involved were identified as follows: • A white Toyota Vios, which runs on gasoline. • A white Mitsubishi Xpander SUV, powered by gasoline and LPG. • A Chevrolet Optra, also running on gasoline. Initial investigations suggest that the fire was caused in the engine compartment of one of the vehicles. All three cars were completely destroyed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The fire is under the jurisdiction of the Bang Khae Fire and Rescue Station, and further investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the blaze. Tourist Van Accident in Prachuap Khiri Khan: 8 Injured, 1 Dead
A van carrying domestic tourists back from a vacation suffered a tyre blowout, spinning out of control and crashing into a roadside tree. The incident left eight people seriously injured and claimed one life. On October 19, at around 18:00 the Sawang Methittham Foundation Rescue Centre in Sam Roi Yot received a report of a serious crash involving a van on Phetkasem Road, heading southbound at kilometer markers 250-251 in the Sala Lai subdistrict of Sam Roi Yot, Prachuap Khiri Khan province. The van had a tyre blowout, causing the driver to veer off the road and strike a large tree. Rescue teams and local police rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, responders found the van overturned in a roadside ditch next to a large tree. Several passengers were trapped inside, with some in severe pain, requiring urgent rescue efforts. Emergency personnel provided first aid and transported the injured to Sam Roi Yot Hospital. Due to the van’s position on its side, rescuers had to carefully extract the passengers through the rear door, even cutting seats to free them, taking over half an hour to complete the operation. The van was carrying a total of 11 people, including the driver. Eight of the passengers, mostly women aged between 60 and 70, sustained serious injuries, including head injuries, broken arms and legs. Unfortunately, after being rushed to the hospital, one woman succumbed to her injuries. The driver and a male passenger seated behind him were unharmed. A witness described the accident, stating that they heard what sounded like a tyre bursting before the van lost control, skidding off the road and slamming into a large tree with a loud crash. The van overturned as a result, prompting the witness to call for emergency services. The van driver, Mr. Nit, explained that he was returning with 10 tourists from Nakhon Phanom, where they had attended a boat festival. They were en route to Songkhla with plans to stop overnight in Prachuap Khiri Khan. Just before the incident, the rear tyre blew out, causing him to lose control and spin into the ditch, where the rear of the vehicle struck the tree, flipping the van on its side. IMHO the only germane point about Credit Cards is the money used to pay them off, if you never pay it off then clearly it's a loan & you've not remitted money anywhere, if you do pay them off then (IMHO) it becomes a discussion about the funds used to pay them off more than the credit card itself. It is essentially rooted in the slavery of the southern states who hang on to the undemocratic advantage it gives them to this day. Interestingly I just read that Joe Biden voted against its abolition a few years ago. History shows it's a clear attempt to prevent the people having their say. I'll grant it may have made some kind of sense back in the 18th and 19th centuries. Especially with the state of communications then. Even pony express hadn't been invented. There's no democratic argument for it today in a national election with today's communications as long as the 'winner takes all' of a state's electoral votes persists. I don't see any other country following the electoral example of the 'shining beacon on the hill'. The dictators don't need it (!) and the democracies where parliaments and presidents are chosen by national votes don't want it. Understandably. Every system has its flaws and is a work in progress. To my 'Marxist, lefty radical' mind that reads leftwing publications like The Economist and Financial Times the electoral college system as practiced is a flaw in and of itself. -

Myanmar Man Arrested for Brutal Murder of Fellow Worker in Phetchabun
Police have arrested a 20-year-old Myanmar national, Lin Lin Aye, for the gruesome murder of a fellow countryman, 48-year- old Aung Min Thee, in Lom Sak District, Phetchabun Province. The suspect allegedly skinned the victim's face and cut off one of his ears after a drunken argument. The incident was reported after the discovery of Aung Min Thee's body on a roadside near a construction site in Ban Pak Ok, Pak Chong Sub-district. The victim had severe injuries, including cuts on his neck, a missing ear, and burn marks around the remains of his mouth. A knife, approximately 20 centimetres long, was found near the body. The police estimated the time of death to be between 8 to 10 hours before the body was found. The investigation revealed that the two men, both construction workers, had been drinking together on the night of October 17. Witnesses reported that Aung Min Thee had been bragging and belittling Lin Lin Aye, causing tensions between them. The two left the camp together to buy more alcohol but never returned. The next morning, Aung Min Thee's mutilated body was discovered by locals. A police task force, including officers from the Provincial Police Region 6 and Ban Klang Police Station, launched an overnight manhunt. Lin Lin Aye was eventually found seeking food and clothing from local villagers, and police arrested him shortly after. During interrogation, Lin Lin Aye confessed to the crime. He stated that after an escalating argument, Aung Min Thee attempted to attack him with a knife. In self-defence, Lin Lin Aye wrested the knife from the victim and fatally stabbed him in the stomach and neck. In a fit of rage, he then skinned Aung Min Thee's face before fleeing into the nearby forest. Suspect Captured After 19-Year Manhunt Thanks to Hospital Announcement
In a remarkable turn of events, police have apprehended a murder suspect who had been evading arrest for nearly two decades. The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Suraphai, was captured at a hospital parking lot after his name was called over the hospital’s intercom system. On October 19, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) announced the arrest of Suraphai, who had been wanted under a warrant issued by the Songkhla Provincial Court on June 8, 2005. He faced serious charges, including premeditated murder and illegal possession of firearms. The case dates back to mid-2005, when a gunman fatally shot an individual at an entertainment venue on Sanhahanusorn Road in Hat Yai. Subsequent investigations revealed Suraphai as the main suspect in the murder. Following the collection of sufficient evidence, law enforcement officials issued a warrant for his arrest. However, Suraphai managed to evade capture for 19 years. Authorities began tracking Suraphai again after learning that he was residing in Hat Yai. During the investigation, officers had to take his mother to a local hospital for medical attention after she developed a problem when being interviewed. While there, they heard the hospital announce Suraphai’s name over the loudspeaker. Recognising the name, the officers immediately called for backup to assist in the apprehension. As the officers observed, Suraphai was about to enter a consultation room. They waited until he met with the doctor before following him to the hospital parking lot. Upon identification, they displayed their police badges and presented the arrest warrant, informing him of the charges against him. Suraphai acknowledged the allegations, confirming his identity as the wanted suspect, and admitted he had never been apprehended prior to this incident. After the arrest, Suraphai was taken into custody and transported to the Hat Yai Police Station for further legal proceedings. During interrogation, he denied all allegations, claiming he was in the restroom at the back of the entertainment venue when the shooting occurred and had immediately fled the scene upon hearing gunshots.
