Keep in mind that many resident and non=resident farang have Thai families and many will be thinking about the best possible future for their wives and their children. Meaning, hopefully, that some / many much more capable Thais eventually (tomorrow) get into senior positions and develop / implement policies and actions which make the foundations of valuable developments and improvements. Perhaps the first item is everything to do with much better education, student centered / analytical, etc. My Thai son and his Thai wife (4 kids) talk about this all the time and it means a great deal to me too. -

ASTRA media geolocated the video, which, according to the behind-the-scenes authors, recorded the arrival of North Korean soldiers at a military base. It appears to be military unit 44980 of the 127th Motorized Rifle Division in the village of Sergeyevka in Russia's Primorsky Krai. "Allies have arrived from North Korea. I hope the war will end here," the author of the video said in the Yakut language. -

I left his hot room after an hour , sparsely furnished in this decriprit old Flybird building , no lights in the stairwells, graffiti,looked like something out of the Bronx I started to cry thinking of not only this poor old man but the many hundreds of old farangs in Pattaya who are FORCED to come home after a day or night of drinking to a bare room with no one to care The security guard came out of his box ,he said "where you go " ? He saw me crying and pointed towards the roadway looking sad at me I'm taking him to the Philippines if anyone wants to join to find true love and his question to me "When I find love in the Philippines can I bring her to Pattaya? Yes I said I left a man who went from sadness to hope -

Samsung repairs / after sales service
55 inch Samsung TV just quit recently. No power. Mrs. Shrdlu called a local independent repair shop nearby and gave the model number. The tech said it was 90% likely to be the power board and it would cost baht 2,500 to fix. We'll take it to the shop next week to see how it goes. Meantime we're using the Samsung 40 incher from 2009 or so that we had put into the storage room. Still works fine. -

Hit and run got me, I'm all broken!
I wasn't too concerned about traffic in the US, even if I had to drive on the wrong side of the road, and remember where to look if I was a pedestrian. For the most part, I found American drivers to be sensible. OTOH, I did not feel comfortable in a country where every police officer was toting a gun. Although it is pretty much the same here. Every time I went to a show or sporting event, I was wondering if a crazy would pop out of the woodwork. -
