Well now thats YOU'RE problem isn't it, I read fine but you from the EU bring EU standard to a Sth East Asian country, the cabling to out front of house or building from an exchange is FREE, the connection is 3000B, same principle applies in AUSTRALIA, and regardless what you claim I doubt any internet connection is free anywhere on the globe. It's highly likely you who use English as a second language dealing with Asians who use English as a second language did not understand each other....I was just at 3BBB this morning changing plan and signing up for another two years, like English is my first language yet we had difficulties explaining and understanding each other, then paying asked if I could use what they call Tap here which is Apple Pay since I use an iPhone, no sir, then sweet pretty girly next to her jumps in and says yes you can, miss communications go on here all the time....

I was talking multiple times to 3BB and to the condo management and from what I understood 3BB is only responsible for installation of the fiber optics cable at the ground floor of the condo. They say they cannot install the cable to my room. They advised me to talk to condo management to get a technician install the cable to my room. Condo management refused that as they say they cannot do it and the 3BB must install the cable to my room. In the shop they offered to get some technician install the cable to my room for about 3000 baht. As I understand this technician is 3rd party subcontractor and if there would be some problem with the internet 3BB might say that the technician did the bad work. Is this your experience as well? I am pretty shocked by this. Also shouldn't the cable installation be free of charge up to some length? I read somewhere that up to 300m it is free of charge. I am living on 8th floor and it is surely less than 300m but they still refuse it. Did you pay this 3rd party technician to install the cable to your room? This is the same procedure we went through at my condominium in Hua Hin. However our building technicians run the fiber to your room from the 3BB fiber drops and they did a very nice job. I requested that in the room they use panduit and sealant and the install came out very nice. Many people signed up for the service in my condo so our charge for the cable, panduit, supplies and installation came out to 2000 baht per room. This is the normal procedure in these older units that didn't have the infrastructure in place.

For not even 100 USD a fibre optic Connection? Is that really too much for you??? And I can't see any reason why you shouldn't trust the professional electrician. Sounds weird. 1
J Branche Posted October 24 Posted October 24 It's different in different cities of course. Pattaya was 2400 about 2 1/2 years ago to condo on 20th floor. Pak Chong fiber inside Free. I've noticed the speeds on my router will drop and I just reboot unplug it everyday. Additionally have a cooling fan under it as speeds would drop when it was hot. I do just basic streaming so don't understand it.
Dogbarker Posted October 24 Posted October 24 There are lots of replies to this . Yes I have read the original post . I have just had true installed in my condo a few weeks ago . I am using this as an example of my experience( yes I know not 3BB) They have cables up to all floors - only 8. I had to pay a deposit for the modem / mesh which I can get a refund on . So I am lucky. However TIT if the cables are not already to your room or floor someone has to pay. Yes in UK and EU the Telecon usually provides it, even to a flat ( but only so far....then often you pay.) BUT generally in Thailand if it isn't cable there you have to pay . As you said AIS has now taken over 3BB have you actually gone to AIS? That would be my recommendation and forget 3BB if AIS will take you on. When I was looking in my house previously they were very helpful . I would be interested what AIS suggests. 1
kimothai Posted October 24 Posted October 24 3bb installed fiber all the way to my room on the 4th floor. Not only to my room but they snaked the fiber across my ceiling to where my TV was located. Installed plastic conduit to bring down from the ceiling. A very professional job in my opinion. These were 3bb guys, not a third party contracter.

I paid the amount quoted to me at the 3bb office (at Big C Extra) plus I gave the guy a tip. It took him better part of an hour to get the cable snaked across my ceiling to come out next to my TV. This was almost 2 years ago so maybe their install policy is different now.
Middle Aged Grouch Posted October 24 Posted October 24 If it's rented condo, the owner has to do the job. If the owner refuses to assume, leave and when back home abroad, name and shame the owner.
john donson Posted October 24 Posted October 24 mine was 4800 baht valued installation but free unless I break the contract before the 12 months, then they collect the 4800 baht
