A shocking discovery unfolded in Sisaket after a patient, who had gone missing from a local hospital, was found dead in the backseat of a nurse’s car. The incident occurred on October 21, when relatives of the patient had been frantically searching for her after she disappeared from the hospital.

At around 18:00, Lieutenant Ek Saengphet, Deputy Inspector of Investigation at Mueang Sisaket Police Station, received a report of a body found inside a black Honda Jazz car with the license plate from Ubon Ratchathani.” The car was parked on Ubon Road in Mueang Tai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Sisaket Province.

The deceased, identified as 53-year-old Ms. Bunthita Sirikul, was discovered in the backseat of the car. It was revealed that the car did not belong to her or her relatives but was owned by Ms. Nantawadee, a nurse at Sisaket Hospital.

Ms. Nantawadee explained that she had driven the car to the hospital that morning and parked it near the hospital entrance before starting her shift. Upon returning to her car at around 18:00, she discovered the body inside. She stated that she had no connection to the deceased and had never seen her before. Nantawadee believes that in her haste to enter the hospital, she may have forgotten to lock her car, allowing the woman to enter and pass away unnoticed.

The family of the deceased explained that Ms. Bunthita had been suffering from brain atrophy for over two years. On the day of her disappearance, she had been at the hospital for a doctor’s appointment accompanied by her relatives. However, she vanished when her family momentarily left her alone to use the restroom. After an extensive search, they reported her missing to the local police station, but tragically, she was found deceased later that evening.

While the family is not suspicious of foul play, the authorities have taken preliminary witness statements and collected evidence from the scene. An investigative team will further inspect the area to gather more details before concluding the case.
