You dialed 1178 and they actually picked up the phone!

It is a recorded message, it has the option to give all your personal details, if you select no, then it just repeats the same message.

Same for the residence certificate racket in Hua Hin, sometimes you don't pay as per the rules and another time some overweight corrupt one in uniform will charge...and of course they will tell you to go to hell if you ask for a receipt.

Well funnily enough I was going to ask if they charge for a LOR, but I thought it would be a rhetorical question, now I regret not asking in actual fact, I had the whole offices attention, including a 'falang couple' who were broadly smiling at the shenanigans. One of the annoying things he said, was,  'it's cheaper than the ferry to pay the fee', using that as, well, like we have you in a trap, I then also pointed out years ago when they had different staff I was asked 500b for the ferry, when I politely pointed out, 'I didn't invite you, you came by choice'. well I didn't take his bait he can go fork himself, in fact it's almost worth the 400baht return price just to piss him off. I guess they will come mob handed again in Jan when I have my home visit, and not just the older guy, cctv up and running.

When I used to do my 90 days in person, the IO put my passport into the reader, tapped a few buttons on the PC, out came a printed paper, which was then torn in half, and that was it. No TM47 needed.

Now doing it online myself, I have to tear the print out myself !

Then I'd have to buy a printer to use, 3 times a year.

OK, put it on your phone and print when you can, in a shop, hotel etc. It does say to keep a copy in your passport. As if anyone would check though.

Yes I have photos of all my important docs on my phone, but I only really need copies when I do my yearly marriage extension, that would create even more frigging copies of the 26 docs and 12 glossy photos, already needed, and as Trat require Everything dated the same day so I get everything printed at a good photo copy shop close by.

On the plus side last year the office was vary crowded in Trat as so many were getting extensions, and most would have been from Koh Chang, so it should be a lot quieter in Trat. I will report them to Trat as My wife and I have a very good respeitar/respect for each other They give her gifts like dried bananas even come out to the car to say hello if she doesn't come in with me.

This thread is just ranting.

Waiting for posts re old chestnut "dual pricing" re national parks etc.

Next will be more variations of cost of COR at the various immigration offices.

No useful information posted.

Your thread started with topic of request for 100b for TM47 at your particular immigration office.

Now just airing beef with immigration requirements in general.

Nice Segue

Interesting thread, now I would have thought these offices would have learned their lesson by now, especially risking job, pension and how much it cost them to get their position, over a few quid...... 😱

Myself included.

At CW .,. I'm now required to provide 12 month bank statement using money in bank method. Never was required the 10 years prior.

They also now insist on a TM47 also previously never required (10+ years)

I post this information in various threads.

Requirements change. That's a given.

For my annual extension next week I will do my first ever TM30 as some reports indicate this may be required at CW.

Never was previously.

How can you be doing your first ever TM30?

My first ever extension from non O retirement (obtained in Vientiane) CW accepted my 12 month rental agreement.

Subsequent extensions for next 12 years TM30 was never required.

Things such as COR etc I never required TM30. I provided TM47.

Have been same condo all my time in Thailand. No change of address.

Back in the day CW were very different to other immigration offices (eg CM) regarding TM30 required after international travel etc.

I notice your joint Jomitien has also in recent times tightened up re TM30

But are YOU paying any fees without a receipt ? I decided to take a stand today albeit a small one, they didn't get their made up fee, a small step but in the right direction.

I'm not suggesting you did wrong thing.

Whatever works for you.

There are also other examples of the opposite.

Bit off topic but not long ago renewed my TDL.

The fee was 505b. I handed over 520 and despite me not wanting the change he would not allow that.

Free Nongkhai, but think it was 2-3 week wait. 2 years back.

Jomtien think it was 300 baht about 4 years ago.

Ps, The thread is about a 90 day report, extortion attempt.

please try and stay on topic and not deflect to other immigration issues.

The thread is pointing out OP experience of being charged for a 90 day report.

As just one other example of various charging I referenced COR as just one example.

That ranges from zero to 800b (max I have read)

So what did you do at Jomitien?

Pay the 300b or walk away without COR

mate try and keep up. :stoner:

I'm just wondering why so many people have issues and yet I've never had a single one since my first visit in 2008. Flying here on one-way flights, onwards tickets 30 days after visa exempt days, 270 day stays a year on visa exempt, easy 90 day reports, TM30 and stay extensions....I must be just lucky 😀
