Michelle Obama Rallies for Abortion Rights as Trump Appeals to Muslim Voters in Michigan
It doesn't depend on the historical period. Leftists use the "changing times" to justify turning the Constitution into a Marxist manifesto. The initial "finding" for Roe was absurd legislation from the bench, as Dems want today in their favor, rubber stamping Party legislation a la banana republic. Following the "finding," we then had mere "precedent." When textualist judges came into the majority of the Roberts court, they found, correctly, no abortion "right" in the Constitution. As a political matter, in the absence of Federal law, it belongs to the states. Contrary to Dem lies, Trump isn't against abortion and has no plans for any federal ban. The Republican Platform says nothing about a ban, and explicitly supports Social Security. So, the Dems may proceed to legislate the matter or implement their plans to impeach Justices they don't like, or intimidate and harass them, or just pack the Court with leftist hacks such as those already on there. It's all on the leftist "democratic" agenda. -

Just in case you think these subpoenas are issued willy nilly here are the requirements.... U.S. congressional select committees have the authority to issue subpoenas under powers granted by the Constitution and established through various laws and precedents. Specifically, this authority stems from the implied powers of Congress under the U.S. Constitution (Article I, Section 1) and Supreme Court rulings affirming that congressional committees have investigative powers necessary to fulfill their legislative functions. Key grounds for issuing a subpoena include: 1. Legislative Purpose: A select committee may issue a subpoena if the information sought is relevant to an area where Congress has legislative power. This might include gathering information for drafting, amending, or repealing laws. 2. Oversight and Investigation: Committees are empowered to investigate federal agencies, actions of public officials, or other matters that affect public policy. This authority is essential for Congress to fulfill its oversight responsibilities. 3. Public Interest and National Security: In certain cases, such as inquiries related to public health or national security, committees have wide latitude to issue subpoenas as these areas often involve urgent matters affecting public welfare. 4. Scope of Inquiry: The information requested must be pertinent to the committee’s stated purpose and scope of inquiry. Committees cannot issue subpoenas for unrelated information or as a tool of harassment. For enforcement, committees can seek court intervention if a subpoena is ignored. Courts typically uphold the subpoena if it serves a legitimate legislative purpose and respects the limits of Congress’s authority . -
