Thai Police Officers Investigated for Alleged Extortion Scheme
In a shocking turn of events, three police officers from Thailand's Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) are under investigation for allegedly conspiring in a 300 million baht extortion scheme targeting Chinese nationals. This scandal has unveiled a deeper web of corruption, with six other officers and a civilian already in custody. The complex case began unraveling after five Chinese victims reported being illegally detained and coerced into paying 5.7 million baht. The encounter followed a raid on their residence in Samut Prakan, where authorities accused them of running a call centre scam. Disturbingly, it is alleged that four were held, while the fifth was released to gather ransom money, supposedly in exchange for their freedom and the dropping of all charges. Once free, they lodged a complaint with Thung Song Hong police, triggering the investigation. The scandal has led to the arrests of a total of seven suspects. Three officers, known as Pol Cpt Thanakrit, “Suphan,” and “Kittiphum,” have been transferred pending further investigation. Meanwhile, two additional suspects, including a Chinese man and his Thai girlfriend, remain on the run. A panel has been convened to thoroughly investigate the officers' actions, as authorities work to restore trust in law enforcement amidst these troubling allegations. I know the deplorable comments really irked my mom who was what 78 at that time. She and my dad are still in the trump camp. The pro life people only have one choice and they don't care he is an idiot. I watched where Joe Rogan told that comedian that, that specific joke was going to burn him someday. Who was the stooge who said Puerto Rico illegals? Haha. They actually needed the workers and welcomed them into the state. They eat cats and dogs. These next 6:days are going to cause lots of health issues I think. Loss of sleep for sure. And it's sad to see both parties trying to buy Nevada voters with this crazy no tip tax idea. As if these people don't hide most of their tips. Read where many of these workers make over 100 k a year, 75% from rips. One striper said she makes 10-20 k USD/month. All tips. But the million $ Elon giveaway is so 3rd World and legal scholars say highly illegal. Sad Elon was able to lawyer his way out of a stay. And if a regular How didn't show up for his arraignment a warrant would be issued. Vote trump and this will be the norm. Also sad the billionaire publishers are cowing down to trump threats. -

Thailand Postpones Start of Winter Season
The pollution varies with location and weather. Traditionally Thailand burns rubbish and everything at the as the dry season progresses - both domestic and industrial. The most serious aspect is the presence of PM2.5 particles which are small enough to pass though the lungs and directly into the bloodstream. Thousands of people are hospitalised every year, particularly in the North. Although crop burning is Technically illegal as you say surreptitious burning continues - this is partly due to the CARTEL that owns the crop commodities - rice/maize/sugar - they encourage burning to increase production. This is only part of the problem. Forest fires contribute to pollution - these are largely man-made. This is tied in with mushroom harvesting - in order to collect this valuable crop the undergrowth is burned out - of course this frequent gets out of control and massive fires ensue. Then there is industry and traffic. In places like Chiang Mai the topography of the city forms a bowl which cn trap still air under clouds - so on top of the forest and agricultural burning the local traffic and industry contribute as well. People love to blame "foreign countries" from contributing to this, but although partially true the air pollution doesn't know country borders, it is wind and climate dictate where it goes and there are plenty of offenders in Thailand - this argument is largely deflection, by those in denial. -
