Man Dies Falling from Seventh Floor of Sattahip Hotel After Social Gathering

An attendee of a seminar in Chonburi tragically died after falling from the seventh floor of a prominent hotel on the Sukhumvit Road, in Sattahip district. The man, known as Mr. Komkhansorn, aged 52, had been drinking and socialising with friends and excused himself to return to his room before the incident occurred.

 

On 2 November at approximately 21:50, local police were alerted to the fall. Police Colonel Watchanchai Saengrith, chief of Na Jomtien Police Station, led the response team, accompanied by medics from Wat Yan Sangwararam Hospital and the Sawang Rojanathamsathan Rescue Foundation.

 

At the scene, Mr. Kom was found in critical condition, lying face down with severe injuries, including head trauma and broken legs. Despite emergency medical attention and rapid transport to a local Hospital, Mr. Komkhandorn succumbed to his injuries.

 

Friends of the deceased shared that they had been attending a seminar at the hotel and were enjoying a social gathering before he decided to retire to his room. Shortly after, they discovered he had fallen from the seventh floor and quickly alerted authorities.

   He most probably accidently fell from the building

Many of the balconies here are built with very flimsy railings, railings that are far too low and quite dangerous. So it doesn't take much when someone is inebriated and leaning against the railing to fall off. It's going to take some investigation to determine whether or not this was accidental, suicide, or foul play. Until then there's no point in speculating, it's just a tragedy, and what makes this even worse is the fact that this guy briefly survived. Can one even imagine the horror of falling down seven stories and then surviving?

I think we will newer got to know what happen as there is no follow up in the news

Maybe it is superman disease? Any of you know how to fly without being in a helicpoter or some sort of

aircraft? and no parachutes and hang gliders count as well. Thankfully I have not witnessed any of these falls.

I thought they all had walls, windows and balcony rails to enclose a structure and prevent any direct open area.

   Surely you must be aware of the low balcony rails in Thailand ?

yes,   but a person would have to lean a substantial way outward to over balance and topple out I would expect.     Surely you agree to this analysis.

   Its very easy to topple over a low railing , if you lean back against a railing a few steps away and its easy to lose balance ,

   Try it on a ground floor railing to see how easy it is

Please tell me that at least investigated the possibility he had some help getting over the balcony. 

 

While I agree that Thai balcony railings are often too low for safety and the odds are he was alone, I'd hope they at least look at any CCTV and talk to witnesses.
