Voters rendered definitive judgment on the Biden economy: It stinks.

Donald Trump’s decisive win over Kamala Harris in the presidential election confirms Americans’ disgust with a menu of things: Wokeism, big government, runaway migration, a chaotic world.

And inflation.

Trump already did this the day after the election, and the Mexican President had the military stop the caravan currently on the way to the U.S.. The new Mexican President might be a leftist with Marxist leanings, but she is no dummy, she knows if Trump levels a 100% tariff on goods coming in from Mexico that thousands of Mexican factories (many of them actually Chinese factories) will shut down and millions will be unemployed overnight, she also knows that Trump could stop the nearly $70 billion in remittances from the U.S. to Mexico and that would cause severe pain to the country and its banking system.

Interesting article 😀

Quote

The 9% inflation under Biden came from a combination of COVID distortions, a surge in stimulus-funded spending, and Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Trump is unlikely to face such an unusual confluence of inflationary forces. But his own policies could make thousands of everyday products more expensive through tariffs and the deportation of migrants who are an important source of cheap labor.

Housing affordability could be a particular vulnerability for Trump. There are at least two problems here: a lack of housing, especially lower-cost units, and mortgage rates that seem stuck above 7%. There’s nothing about Trump’s agenda that addresses either of those problems, and if his policies do turn out to be inflationary, rates could even go up, making housing affordability worse.

Cutting government spending will reduce inflation, reducing interest rates.

Cutting regulations spurs growth and lowers inflation, reducing interest rates.

Increasing energy production reduces energy costs, which reduces prices, lowering inflation, reducing interest rates.

Why is cheap labor important? Greater demand for low and no skilled labor will disproportionality benefit the working poor and lower middle class.

Stopping illegal immigration and deportations will put upward pressure on wages, and downward pressure on help make housing more affordable.

Cutting regulations on housing lowered cost.

Perhaps the same reports I read, but a super majority is a specified number of seats in both senate and congress for specific legislative acts that cannot be passed with a simple majority.

The Republicans have a simple majority which will effectively give Trump unchecked legislative freedom over everything except those acts requiring a super majority.

Of course the Senate Republicans could decide that doing away with the filibuster in the Senate might be in their interest, and should they decide to do that, then a simple majority is all that is needed to get any legislation through Congress! This is actually a very good idea since they know that should the Democrats ever get back control of the Senate then they will immediately do away with the filibuster. The Senate Republicans could also use this as a teaching moment for the Democrats, and dedicate an entire day to showing clips of Senate Democrat leaders making the case for doing away with the filibuster, and then have the new Republican Senate leader go to the podium and declare "in the spirit of bipartisanship we Republicans agree with our Democrat friends that perhaps it is time for the filibuster to be ended" and then immediately vote to do away with the filibuster, thereby making every piece of legislation passable by a simple majority!  This would not only rub salt in the wounds after this election, but would also show how short sighted these Democrats are, in addition it would accelerate all of the legislation that the Trump team needs to get through Congress in the first 100 days to get America back on the right track. Of course this would also streamline and accelerate the work Elon Musk will be doing as "Secretary of cost cutting" , as he starts to slash budgets and even do away with many government agencies, so it's a win-win situation all the way around, and a very good lesson for those arrogant Democrats like chuck schumer!

Democrats were also wanting to pack the court. I think they could get bipartisan support for six more Supreme Court Justices.

Never a dull moment during election "vote harvesting" season in AZ.

It makes perfect sense for a couple of reasons. First of all Gallego outspent Kari Lake by around 10:1 (that's a lot of brainwashing right there since 90%+ of his ads were blatant lies) and since he ran unopposed, he was able to run ads from late 2023 right up to election day, where as Lake didn't win the nomination until early August 2024 due to Arizona's late primary process. This alone put Lake way behind the curve just a couple months out from the election, but to make matters worse Lake has had a long history of making her very strong views on abortion public, and these were used against her relentlessly by Gallego's team after she became the nominee. With that said, Arizona has over 350,000 votes yet to count, and the vast majority of those are from areas of the sate that are friendly to Kari Lake, so being around 40,000 votes down currently she could still possibly pull this one out, however it is an uphill battle at this point, although if the final tally is less than .5% difference between the candidates then an automatic recount will be initiated, and given the cheating that then Democrats have gotten away with over the past couple election cycles, it is possible that Kari Lake could still prevail. This should be a lesson to Arizona Republicans, because if Sheriff Mark Lamb had been chosen, then without the baggage  of the strong abortion views, Lamb would have beaten Gallego by roughly the same margin as Trump, which is currently at just over 6%.

I was expecting that the RW would claim merits for the outcomes of Biden's policies from Trump's first day in office, but not more than two months before! 🤣

They know the people that voted their way are easily led and not too bright, gullible enough to believe whatever they say, and they make the most of it.  Fortune favors the bold -- literally!  Now they telling them to send more $$$.

I'm expecting a new phenomenon in the near future (if it is not happening already): DT foreclosures.  This would be people who sent so much of their money to you-know-who that they cannot maintain their lives and mortgages.  And we know just how generous the conservatives are when it comes to helping people in need.

I saw the caravan on the tv news and something does not make sense. There were mothers pushing prams for toddlers and loads of children. How did they get from wherever they came from all the way to Mexico?

We hear how they have their money stolen by border guards and criminals, so how do they afford to buy food and shoes etc? They didn't look hungry to me.

So, who is paying for the criminal gangs.

I agree that no one else cares what any of us think. It'll all me me me and to hell with everyone else.

I decided long ago to classify everything as BS till proven otherwise and I don't often get to make things not BS.

The last 4 years, on both sides of the divide in the US have somewhat proven that theory. Never in the history of human communication has so much BS been spouted by so many.

Of course, those that wish to can classify my burbles as BS too.

This time, Trump's popularity overcame all the Dem rigging and cheating and illegals voting. Plus, he'd motivated a lot of tightening of procedures. The latter will continue under his tenure, now that he was burned in 2020.

Now that Trump's won the popular vote, will Dems call for abolishing it, too, as they have the Electoral College every since Hillary lost? And then what, an Obama dynasty?

they are already screaming for social media control ( Joe Rogan )

Dems don't belive in the 1st amendment ..  or 2nd,3rd,4th,5th .....10th

More golden age predictions... 😃

Economists say Trump could give Americans the very thing they voted against

  • High prices helped Trump get elected. Economists say his proposals could also be inflationary.

  • Lower taxes, new tariffs, and deportations are seen by some as driving inflation and higher rates.

  • The Fed may be forced to hike interest rates if inflation rebounds, raising borrowing costs for Americans.

Let’s get that Keystone pipeline finished and operational.

Next to the Arctic to drill through Rudolf the Rednose Reindeer's head to tap that oil.

And it's not like the OPEC would restrict production in order to keep prices high enough, as they did every time the U.S. increased its production!

The main reason why gas prices pre-Covid under Trump were in general higher than in 2016 under Obama.
