In a chilling incident, a 57-year-old local official was found dead in her home in Klong Sam, Pathum Thani, with multiple stab wounds to the neck. Police reported no signs of struggle in the premises or missing belongings.

Police Lieutenant Kriengkrai Srimai, an investigator at Khlong Luang Police Station, responded to a report of the woman’s death at her single-story wooden house in Klong Sam, located on a plot spanning over 100 square metres and enclosed by a fence. Upon arrival, police found the woman, identified as Ms. Warakanok, a district officer of the Klong Sam Subdistrict Administrative Organisation, lying in a pool of blood near her refrigerator. She was wearing a traditional Thai cloth wrap and was found with deep cuts to her neck.

A fruit knife was discovered on the dining table, and a gold necklace was left on a bathroom sink, indicating that valuables had not been taken. The deceased’s sister, who was the first to discover the body, stated that she heard her sister scream twice around 21.30 on November 9. She rushed over, only to find her sister’s lifeless body, with no intruder in sight. “She was well-liked and had no enemies,” her sister said, adding that her sister’s regular gold necklace was left untouched at the scene.

Ms. Warakanok lived in the house with her elderly mother. According to her sister, who lived nearby, there had been no issues at work, nor had she ever experienced personal conflicts. Her son also corroborated this, mentioning that his mother had seemed fine before he left to buy food. He had last seen her around 19.00 when she walked him to the gate, just hours before the tragedy.

Lieutenant Kriengkrai Srimai, working alongside forensic teams and medical personnel, documented the crime scene for further evidence. Relatives have been called in for questioning to shed light on any potential leads, and the deceased’s body has been sent to Thammasat University Hospital for a full autopsy.
