Nope.

Yep.  Simple dictionary definition will get you:

criminal /krĭm′ə-nəl/
adjective
  1. Of, involving, or having the nature of crime.
  2. Relating to the administration of penal law.
  3. Guilty of crime.

As to crossing a border, umm, illegally.....

Whether it's by crossing the U.S. border with a "coyote" or buying a fake U.S. passport, a foreign national who enters the U.S. illegally can be both convicted of a crime and held responsible for a civil violation under the U.S. immigration laws. Illegal entry also carries consequences for anyone who might later attempt to apply for a green card or other immigration benefit.

The Haitians we are speaking about did not cross a border illegally.

Pay attention.

I’d just like to know who thought it was a good idea to dump 20,000 of anybody in a town of 50,000 and who is footing the bill?

And how did it go unnoticed or unreported until stories of them (allegedly) eating people pets surfaced.

Fishy

There had been a huge population decline there before. New employers recruited the Haitians. Duh.

What Haitians?

I took issue with your term "undocumented."

There is indeed majority support for mass deportations of the undocumented even though doing so will devastate the economy but I really doubt there is such strong support for deporting legal migrants.

Undocumented = illegal.

There is strong support for deporting criminals.

Please pay attention.

Generally criminal migrants refers to undocumented people who have committed other crimes. Also keep in mind that a significant percentage of the undocumented didn't enter illegally.

This topic is about Trump's promise to deport the LEGAL Haitian migrants in Springfield.

I've said several times not one legal will be deported, unless they void their visa.

Indeed, "...most everyone across both parties want illegal migration to stop and be controlled properly." except for the Biden-Harris Administration and a lot of people in congress.

Harris bragged about their "immigration" bill she push in 2021, but it was mostly just a fast-track to citizenship and to fund more judges to let people in faster.

Biden-Harris opened the border intentionally, let in +-10M, and then closed it when the election got close.

What do you recommend for research, Vox? AlteNet?

Go back and read your first reply to me

If they are here legally, they have documentation to support that.

If they are undocumented, they have no legal basis to remain.

As Trump will be dictator, shirley, he has the authority to end Humanitarian Parole and TPS.  An executive order should be enough to deport the millions of documented aliens on these programs.

They have applied for the programs, submitting documents, and been approved, receiving other documents.  So, ummm, not undocumented.

No idea what you're attempting to say here.

The legal Haitians in Springfield who Trump Vance know are legal under the emergency program for Haitians yet they disgustingly call illegal are indeed being targeted for deporting by those scapegoating sleaze  buckets and yes Trump as President will have the power to deport those legal migrants. Woof Woof.

Link or retract this claim.

No wonder Trump won.

Nearly half of all the unauthorized migrants now living in the United States entered the country legally through a port of entry such as an airport or a border crossing point where they were subject to inspection by immigration officials, according to new estimates from the Pew Hispanic Center.

As much as 45% of the total unauthorized migrant population entered the country with visas that allowed them to visit or reside in the U.S. for a limited amount of time. Known as “overstayers,” these migrants became part of the unauthorized population when they remained in the country after their visas had expired.

No need to do either.

Use your noodle buddy.

Migrants that enter and claim asylum then released pending later judgements entered legally.

Those that entered visa exempt or with tourist visas usually by air then overstayed entered legally.

I didn't know unauthorised meant undocumented. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

Mass deportations won't happen and here's why.

President-elect Donald Trump’s plans to institute across-the-board tariffs and mass deportation of undocumented immigrants will likely usher in the unintended consequence of “soaring inflation,” according to a Noble Prize-winning economist, who added that grocery and housing prices will specifically be affected.

“If these workers are deported, the food industry will probably have great difficulty replacing them,” Krugman wrote Monday, noting that undocumented immigrants also play a major part in food processing. “Even in the best case, the industry will have to offer much higher wages — and, of course, these higher wages will be passed on in higher prices.”

https://www.rawstory.com/trump-economy-2669804290/

and if they did happen the Republicans would just bring them back in just as fast as they were removed.

During the entirety of the Operation {wetback], border recruitment of illegal workers by American growers continued, due largely to the low cost of illegal labor, and the desire of growers to avoid the bureaucratic obstacles of the Bracero program. The continuation of illegal immigration, despite the efforts of Operation Wetback, along with public outcry over many US citizens removed, was largely responsible for the failure of the program.

So the Biden-Harris policy was to let illegals flood in and stay?

I've been saying that for years and you guys all called me a liar.

I do not recall suggesting you are a liar about anything so would appreciate  you ceasing such aggressive assertions both as an individual or as one of some perceived group.

As to policy it is well recorded that Trump thwarted a bipartisan bill that would have been a good solution to the immigration issue.

It is also undeniable that the alternative less effective measures Biden did eventually get in place had and has continued to greatly reduce "illegals".

Those pending the results of acceptance or rejection of criteria for stay are protected under existing law.

Should those that are already legal migrants be arbitrarily ejected ?

Political promises have a habit of not resulting in initial assumption of populist intent.

The Haitians, at least many of which we are speaking about came here with the condition it was temporary. To think it would lead to permanent legal status was wishful thinking and Biden was cruel to offer this illusion. The longer they stay the harder it will be to go back. If conditions warrant it, they should go home ASAP as staying here is sort of cruel when ultimately they don't meet immigration requirements for permanent residency.

If they are here based upon false asylum claims they have problems. If their claims are true it should be okay for them. The dems have always ignored, that these honest hard working people are basing their residency upon fraudulent asylum claims that play the system.. Bring in a judge and have their cases heard right on the spot.

You would have to appoint large numbers of judges very quickly, and find lots of lawyers to staff the courts.

A judge will have to weigh the evidence - proving the evidence submitted by the claimants would be difficult, yet it is no secret that gangsterism and intimidation is rife in the countries they are fleeing.

Summary justice dispensed "from the saddle", followed by immediate punishment without appeal or mercy makes for good cowboy drama, not such good modern government.

I am sure it wouldn't be that hard to get a few judges to start fast tracking the cases. It isn't a criminal trial and the burden of proof isn't on the government. By default you do not qualify unless you make a compelling case.

On the one hand, the allegation is that they have committed a criminal act by entering the USA illegally, on the other hand we reduced the burden of proof needed.

An interesting and thought provoking approach to justice!
