Its been stated time after time, its a contact address that is all, no nothing.  All my contacts are in UK too, good way to go.  They never phone, just one letter a year informing of your pension rise, make sure that letter is not returned, they will send a proof of life if returned, might temporary suspend oap until they know you are alive ,but will refund eventually when u make contact

They send a letter to your home address with a code to use online around 6 months before your retirement date.

Your mom sends you the code, then you use a VPN to complete the claim online (can't access the claim site without VPN). 

 

Two things they want to know online,

Q: are you married? A: no! ...... this avoids extra forms being posted.

Q: what is your bank account details?

 

That's it, they don't even ask for confirmation of your address (as they just wrote to you at it).

In 1961 the term "State Pension" ceased to be a valid reference for the OAP. it became an umbrella term for payments that would be received at state pension age.

Government statements on the frozen pension issue always refer to the state pension when they actually mean the basic component rather than the pension as a whole. This is a deliberate falsehood and many that are ignorant of the state pension structure go along with it.

My state pension is made up of several components and quite obviously calculated on an individual basis. the letter that came with it even said so.

It should be noted that the bottom component was based on contributions to the GRB scheme rather than NI.

I think they know I am in Thailand as I applied to pay Class 2 voluntary contributions on the basis of working abroad.

However, my mother's house in UK actually belongs to me.

That is a rather silly comment, when the State pension is actually called a benefit by the UK Gov, which I have shown you from credible links.

As stated, each payment (unfrozen) is calculated based on age, National Insurance contributions, SERPS, and graduation payments. So what? I receive all of these, as will anyone else who qualifies, and it amounts to a pretty penny when received unfrozen, of course.

The initial pension benefit is calculated on many things, the form is very long and time-consuming.

My pension rise letter is returned every year, "Not here" or the like.

They've also returned debit cards, my bank just stopped sending them out.

Makes no difference, if the ONS doesn't tell them you're dead, then you're still alive.

I don't think anyone in the banks or DWP actually cares, but if you tell them different, then they will act (more than there jobs worth).

Allegedly the DWP doesn't have a current address for up to 40% of their pension claimants.

My main address is in France, I lived there for 15 years, the DWP know that and send life certificated there. There are too many of you that make false assumptions and yes they also know that I spend most of the winter in Thailand. You dont have to be in the UK for 6 months, I thought you knew that.
