One Dead, One Injured in Kanchanaburi Car Crash as Vehicle Plunges into Canal

The Miracle of Life Foundation (Khun Rattanawut), Kanchanaburi Province, responded to a report of a car accident during the evening of November 13, that resulted in one fatality and one injury in the Nong Rai Canal in Takhamaen Subdistrict, Tha Maka District, Kanchanaburi.

 

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene at approximately 19.55, where they found a gray Mitsubishi car submerged in the canal. There were two people involved in the crash.

 

The first victim, a woman Ms. Kanya Khonkaen 57, who was able to exit the vehicle on her own. Volunteers assessed her condition and provided basic first aid at the scene, she was reportedly disoriented and in shock. She was then transported to Makharak Hospital for further care.

 

Ms. Kanya informed rescuers that a second person, a male, had been inside the car but had been unable to escape the car before disappeared under the water. A dive team from the Khun Rattanawut Foundation’s headquarters was immediately called in to search for the missing person.

 

At 01:00 on November 14, divers recovered the body of the second individual, identified as Mr. Thongbai Phengphan 69, from Subdistrict, Dontoom District, Nakhon Pathom


The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
