proton Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 I know a Chinese woman who has a Thai nominee father for one of her kids, so she can get an extension. Chinese husband and real father is on a retirement extension that you are not permitted to work on. He goes out to work everyday, and of course they managed to buy a house.

Frankie baby Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Thai nominees are the law, put in place to keep the cash flowing in and the Thais in control. Seems the cash is being filtered elsewhere. Changes ahead. 1

tomazbodner Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 I guess there will soon be lots of fancy villas and condos available for sale on the cheap side...

I think I've got another 10 years at least. 3 2

Popular Post BigStar Posted November 16, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 16, 2024 5 minutes ago, UWEB said: You don't need a Thai nominee to own a Condo. True, but foreigners sometimes resort to a company to buy a condo in the Thai quota when the foreign quota is already sold out. I guess they really, really want to be in that building for some reason. 3

In fairness, it's often hard to know what to believe. Lawyers always claim no problem, some honcho verified the periodic crackdowns don't apply to simple property ownership for a residence. Me, I wouldn't take the risk, and I wouldn't want the extra paper work and tax. But, up to them. 2

We are not talking brown kraft envelopes but ocean freighters.

BritScot Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 It must be legal! A loophole yes but illegal, no! All this fuss, simple answer is close the loophole and job done! But wait, that would drive away money/business and the collection of those nice fat brown envelopes.... 1 1

Reality: Some Thais lose their jobs(of informal employment) all of sudden because of the forced closure of their workplaces.
