Wow, OP has found 30 baht/kilo salad on the street and now a 25 baht tea strainer. Looking forward to the next big expense thread πŸ˜‰

I never undertood people who brag how expensive things they got. Or how much money they spend.

It may be they want to boost their poor self confidence? But come across like fools...

Β

Yes, I get kick of getting what I want and paying minimum for it. Like Germans - they are "thrifty", not cheap.

Β

PS. You missed one thing to make fun of too; I walked 10km rather than taking 10 THB taxi!

Why? 'cause I want to show of my flat firm stomach to my 24yr younger Thai friend. She loves my body... πŸ˜‰

I see the OP has now got a solution, but this on Lazada looks similar to the ones I saw in the UK before the advent of tea bags.

I've had one like this for years. A and a silver tea strainer and holder thatΒ  I brought here in 1987. I only get that out when the vicar comes to tea, to go with the cucumber sandwiches and cream and jam scones. "More tea. vicar?" πŸ˜‰

Thanks! Enough info now to run around and find it.

Twinings Earl Gray Black Tea (if I find them!) bag prices are gone so high this is better for me.

I would not be surprised if packets of tea prices go the same way as tinned beans, sorry about going off topic.Β  Β  Β  Β

Mr DIY has sieves

Thanks for the tip but at Thepprasit location they were very shallow. Won't be sunken at all. No good...

Β

That Lazada one look good, it's deep. Mine is deeper.

I walked 10km and checked many stores, like Mr-DIY, hard ware stores, swap meets and ended to Big-C.

There I saw SS kitchen sink strainer (99 B) and "saw the light". That's it!

However, it was too shallow. On the way back saw small store across Supalai condo. They had what I wanted, deep one with large flange. Price 25 B. If you need same they had 3 more.

It's perfect.

Β

Looks like this, 4cm deep;

It seems that you missed the Mr DIY 100-pieces Food Grade Drawstring Filter Bags for Tea, coffee or seasoning. 45 baht.

I bought bag of loose tea but can't find container to use it.

At home I have many, like "double spoon" w holes and egg size metal ball to fill up and dip to a cup.

I've been to swap meets and small and big shop - no luck.

Thais don't know what I'm talking about. Maybe they put tea crumbs to the cup?

What to use? A sock πŸ™‚

Just go to a dept. store like Central Chidlom, Siam Paragon, Emporium & take the time to find this or similar tool in the household dept. Look where teapots are & you will find it.
