My tip great grandfathers son emigrated to America, and  my far distanced cousin relocated back to Norway with her family and her lab collegs in 2016, and already gained Norwegian citizenship. She and her husband both scientists and now her son studying to be dr at the Norwegian university for free. 

 

I would say thats a loss of 6 highly eductated people Usa needs in their best ages, and still productive for many years to come.

If she has the financial resources to live there ( a delightful part of the country, although expensive), qualifies for a visa and gets on with her life then good luck to her. She and her partner will benefit from a relatively peaceful place to live ( she is after all it seems at the end of her career and of retiring age) and will benefit from the National Health System - there is a "joiners fee" of some sort, but living here she will now be a UK taxpayer.

You have to give her credit for doing what she said she would do - although I suspect it was probably on the cards before Trumps re-election. Ok, but you have to give the Yanks a 2-for-1 for actually pushing one into The Palace.  I ignore all that stuff, so I only hear about the juiciest incidents in the headlines.

Best comment I've heard was Meghan complained of the royals "they were racist to me,"  to which Chris Rock comments "Look who they are, what did you expect?  They practically invented it!"
