Fun facts: There is no description of Helen of Troy in The Odyssey and only a brief mention in the Iliad. What we do know factually and historically is that Helen's mother was raped by a swan and Helen herself was born from an egg. Homer (who is credited with the poem, although we don't even know if he really existed) composed (he was a bard and didn't write anything down) The Odyssey several hundred years after the Trojan War and it is full of anachornisms, as the Trojan War took place during the Bronze Age rather than the Iron Age, when Homer lived. So his descriptions of weapons, war tactics, and the culture at the time were all wrong. I wonder if his Greek audience became livid at this. There is no historical evidence that Odysseus ever existed. None. In fact, many scholars think he was an entirely fictional character. The purpose of a movie is to make money. Most of the members of this forum probably haven't visited a movie theater in years. Most of us don't even pay for the movies we do watch.
