Giorgia Meloni Sparks Controversy with Remarks on Immigration and Sexual Violence in Italy

Meloni's remarks, however, have drawn sharp criticism. Italian Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara recently faced backlash for making a similar claim, suggesting that illegal immigration was linked to rising incidents of sexual violence. Valditara’s statements provoked outrage, with opposition figures accusing him of perpetuating falsehoods.

That's what the woke do. Best ignored. Responding to the loonies only encourages them to keep ranting.

I had hopes that Meloni would actually do what she said before the election. Unfortunately she turned out to be another empty paper bag politician that promises the world to get elected and then abandons everything they promised once in the big chair.

Should be easy to determine whether the claims are true or not.

Talking about ranting, it's funny how some people see wokeism everywhere, even where there is very little of it.

In Italy deeply rooted Catholic culture predates wokeism by a couple of thousand years at least, and respect for the Catholic church's dictates is still dominant, especially among more conservative circles. Pope Francis has called anti-migrant measures "grave sins". He has also said that it is a "grave sin" to not offer aid to migrant vessels. He doubled down by blaming wealthy countries for the increase in immigration numbers, saying they are responsible because of their economic strength and energy policies. No mention of the corruption, nepotism, violation of fundamental human rights, excessive demographic expansion, illiteracy which plague the countries from which emigrants are running away.

Politicians world wide are ignoring the fact that hoads of illegals are committing sexual and other crimes.

Politicians and others are demonised by main stream media for stating the truth in public.

In the UK  young Muslim immigrant  males are frequent offenders.

citing official data from the Ministry of the Interior that attributes over 80% of femicides in Italy to Italian citizens.

Yeah, but if that is true 'foreigners' are committing more femicides per head count than Italians supporting her argument about immigrants

She's right of course. Well done for speaking up.

You only have to look at the treatment of women in the cultures they come from. They are not suddenly going to adopt new belief systems after a week in a hostel in Milan.

No facts. Your opinions should be easy to prove.

How can we present facts when the government essentially covers it up by refusing to release the figures? Can't imagine why they would do that? 😆 Yeah, a real mystery that one...

However independent research confirms the idea that immigrant crime is around double that of indigenous people.

It's a real mystery why our European economies aren't absolutely booming with all these doctors, nurses and engineers gracing us with their presence.

It's not true what she said. There is no evidence, not in any EU country.

The reality is a bit more complex..

"According to Istat, Italy's national statistics agency, the country saw 334 murders in 2023, up 3.7% from the year before.

Of the victims, 117 were women and 217 were men, and it's the male victims who account for the overall increase — a 10.7% rise since 2022, compared to a 7.1% decrease in female victims.

Around 94.3% of the Italian women killed that year were victims of fellow Italians, according to the agency, and 43.8% of foreign women killed in Italy were victims of someone of the same nationality.

The number of women killed by a partner or ex-partner stood at 63."
