Special Train Collides with Track Inspection Vehicle in Suphanburi

A collision occurred on the morning of November 30, between Special Train No. 983 and a track inspection vehicle on the Suphanburi railway line at approximately 08:35. Fortunately, three railway workers aboard the inspection vehicle managed to jump clear in time, sustaining only minor injuries.

 

Special Train No. 983 was a chartered service heading to Suphanburi Station. The route is typically served by only one passenger train per week, requiring additional caution for any non-scheduled services. Local residents in the area, unfamiliar with frequent train activity, may have been unaware of the train’s presence.

 

Railway officials, however, should have been fully informed of the schedule. According to statements, the workers heard the train’s horn but mistook it for a train operating on the main railway line, leading to the unfortunate miscalculation.

 

Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident and to ensure improved safety protocols for future operations.

There are strict rules and procedures in place for trains or track vehicles to occupy track sections. 

 

Of course people need to follow them for it to be safe.
