Shipping laptop from Italy to Thailand

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

I will be starting a new job which requires me to use the company's laptop. I will need to ship it from Italy to Thailand (Ao Nang). I've read about people having a smooth process while it was a real hassle for others. What is your experience about it? What should I expect? Furthermore, do I need to do anything specific and have any documentation ready?

Thank you very much

Will it be shipped with other personal goods in a container or only a Laptop with air freight?

There shouldn't be any issues, laptops are zero-rated for import duty but you may be charged VAT on its value.

Only my laptop would be shipped

Then I would recommend that your company sends it with DHL / FedEx or whatever. Of course there will be at least the VAT on it. But your company would have to pay it anyway.

The best option would be if a friend or whatsover could bring the laptop with him / her when visiting you. That would cost nothing except maybe a invitation for a dinner 🙂
