Come back to Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi, I hope someone can give some good advice! I went to Thailand last June on a tourist visa and stayed there until the end of October, less than 4 and a half months, did a border run in Laos. Now I'm in my country again but I would like to return to Thailand after the new year or around March/April. Is it possible to go back without a visa since they now stamp 60 days on your passport or better to apply for a tourist e-visa online like i did before? I would like to avoid being questioned by the immigration officer why I come back to Thailand again? Lol. I am also thinking of getting a multi-entry tourist visa as I already have enough funds to my wise account for the asked bank statement from the embassy

Visa exempt - no problem (remember onward ticket for airline check-in), 60 days + 30 extension possible

Single entry tourist visa - no problem, 60 days plus 30 extension possible

Multi entry tourist visa - no problem.

Thanks. So it is useless to apply for e-visa online. I would only waste money. About the multiple entry visa the embassy want me to upload a round trip ticket but I didn't understand what they mean. Last time I only uploaded a ticket flight from Thailand to Vietnam within 60 days, for a single tourist visa

While you have the time just get a multiple entry tourist visa.

Better option if you change your mind about staying longer.

Don't see much value in obtaining a tourist visa as it provides 60 day stamp same as visa exempt.

With your history visa exempt entry no problem.

As for METV that depends on how long you wish to stay in Thailand.

Likely that or similar would be good enough, if they come back asking for more just explain your plans.

The embassy ask to upload a round trip flight. 2 inbound and 2 outbound flights. Looks different from the single tourist visa requirement

You are unlucky.  It is not a requirement at many embassies.  I'd still try with 1 in/1 out and an explanation of your further plans.

Here is the requirement as listed on the London website;

"Travel booking confirmation
- Flight details showing applicant’s name, departure date, all flights en route from UK/Ireland/UK territories to Thailand and onward ticket to another destination. "

You click on a word in post you want to quote and slowly extend to sentence you wish to deal with. Shown in screenshot.

Or just hit quote bottom left of the post you wish to deal with and the whole post will pop up and you add your question..

Thank you for letting me know. Anyway, I could just upload one ticket out of Thailand within 60 days and explain to the embassy that I will do a border run next time. I don't know if it would works 😕

I would avoid using the term "border run". But next explain you will visit nearby countries several times but your final plans have not yet been made.
