What is the current procedure for applying for a visa at the Savannahkhet consulate?

it used to be show up drop off your paperwork. Pay the fee. Come back the next afternoon and pick up your passport with the visa. Now I’ve heard that you need to go there one day to make an appointment, go to the appointment the next day and then come back on the third day to pick up your passport and visa.

How do you make an appointment? When do you need to go there to make an appointment? What are their hours for appointments? Is the appointment for the next day or could it be further out? Is it possible to make appointments online?

TIA

You have to make an appointment here....https://thaivisasvk.com/vabo/index.php/make-an-appointment

Chances are you wont be able to as they are moving to the e-visa system from next month and in person appointments stop in a couple of weeks.

Forget that plan.

What visa are you applying for.

Non O retirement?

You can obtain an eVisa in places such as Saigon etc OR do a border bounce for visa exempt entry and obtain Non O at your local immigration office.

Assume you have a Thai bank account in your name only

Agree with what Upnotover posted above ,

at the time of posting the earliest available appointment is Friday 20th Dec.

Beyond 20th December , slots open on a daily basis

, there is no option to book further than 14 Days in advance.

Each Day's quota is quickly taken up , when it becomes available , quite possibly due to agents block booking spots , so need to get online early ie. 07:00 to 08:00 to have any chance of getting an appointment.

Hope this helps..

Indeed.

To add.... Suggest if no compelling reason to use Laos then eVisa for Thailand can be obtained elsewhere.

Along with option of obtaining non O in Thailand. If that's the visa he is after.
