Good questions, as we are not allowed to work with tourism. I would be fine without tourists in Thailand.

Latest info still suggesting that this may be nothing more than flu, malaria, measles (or even a combination of different diseases) in mostly younger children, with the fatality rate exacerbated by the malnutrition that most of the severe cases were suffering from.

The best of times, when entire Thai families drank poison and died together because they had no money to buy food or pay the bills.  Do you remember that? The stories were blocked and paramedics were threatened with prison sentences if they continued to report the stories to the media.  Did you notice the lineups for food handouts?  Cnut.

Apparently confirmed as malaria - so not a dire plot by the WHO (or anyone else) to foist a new disease and/or control measures on the public at all (as some people were trying to suggest).
