To be fair, apart from tourism money, most Thais don't want any foreigners in Thailand.

This is completely untrue and I have video evidence filmed in multiple locations that I have submitted to the relevant authorities at said properties for further investigation.

Youre friends with the scum, and enemies with your own kind. The worst kind of traitor, and an IQ low enough to group all Americans together, the most diverse country on the planet

You just grouped all Chinese and Russians together when calling them scum & enemies. So you also have the same IQ then?

as you miss out to understand, world politics is a fight about land and resources, and make the right allies to the right time. It is a big game of chess with many players, who cheat, lie and try to hide their real agenda. Every move has a respond to it, and right now we see a chaotic game, where Putin seems to gain more allies than enemies. Ukraine is an important allie with resources, and an important buffer for both parts, the west and russia. Not unlikely Turkey to mention another. The black sheep in Europe, we should be grateful for time being, being on our side. That can change tho

I voted yes. ... Thailand is like the international concessions of Shanghai prior to the Japanese invasion. ... The Russians have pumped money into the  struggling Thai tourism sector, boosting incomes ... On a human level, although few in number, many of the Russian kids (early to mid 20's) are rather decent. ... The  older Russians though, get my disdain.

Another perceptive post from @Patong2021

Thank you for taking time to think and write as you did.

About 15 years ago -- when the Russian invasion was in the early stages -- I was in an ordinary foot massage shop on the outskirts of Chiang Mai -- far from any tourist hot spots.

Man about my age entered and sat down in the next chair.

I enjoy meeting people and started chatting with him.

Very strong accent, and I assumed Russian, but not sure,

so asked where he was from.

"Russia."

I was very curious and said something like, "What are you doing out here??  Not many Russians come to Chiang Mai!"

He almost spat out the words, "Good!   I don't like Russians! ! "

Well, as you might imagine, that became a very interesting conversation.

I can imagine how those Poles thought. Did you get deep into with them, how Russia stole parts of the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomercia during the process of Poland regaining its historical lands from the Hapsburgs.

All I can say is that they were great fun, in particular the woman who was a flight attendant. They invited me to Krakow and said I would have an absolute blast, especially loving the booze as much as I do.

And the fella said the women are on tap and very liberal and his wife concurred..

Could well be my next trip!

That's not exactly a claim to fame. Smoking weed is a thing you do as teenagers, then we grow up.

I am not Ukrainian.

If I were I would be on the front-line defending my country and my family from a foreign invader.

Yes.

I would grass up a loud/obnoxious/rowdy/disrespectful drunken Russian in a heartbeat!

Especially if they are disturbing my sleep.

I have friends who know younger Russians. And they say they are kind, friendly and progressive. I have no idea what percentage of the population these younger people represent, nor how representative they are of the Russian population. Personally, I have met very few friendly Russians. Anywhere in the world. The vast majority of Russians I have met, seem to have very, very few redeeming qualities. It is no wonder.

I can only speak from my experience. Have run into alot of Russians both in the US, and on Phuket and Samui, 98% of them seem to be grumpy, unfriendly and gruff. Some of them are downright hostile. Likely a reflection of a very, very rough culture and environment. So, perhaps it is not a coincidence that the world is not standing up to support them and show them kindness?

I do not think it is a sense of entitlement. I think it is a reflection of the current culture. It was destroyed over a century of callous and murderous leadership. Stalin, Lenin, Khruschev, now Putin. They have become somewhat savage and crude. No grace, no finesse, no courtesy. Rather uncivilized. My family was from Russia a few generations back. I used to ask my great-grandmother when she was still around, why they didn't teach us anything about the old country. She would give me this look, and tell me "the reason we never teach you about the place we came from, is because the place we came from was the most horrific country on earth, it was the most destitute, horrible, oppressive place and we were thrilled to finally get out of there and leave it behind. That's why we don't teach you about the old country, the old country doesn't exist for us.

There are a multitude of reasons why very few around the world have sympathy for the Russians. Those reasons are not limited to their serial killing, despot, thieving multi billionaire dictator for life. It is more about their nature, their history as ruthless, homicidal Cossack warriors, and their total lack of manners, and class. Not to mention the dignity, class, decency, civility, and social skills decades of Leninism, Stalinism, and now Putinism has stripped them of.

And of course, the utter failure of their leader. This is a clear case of psychological projection: Putin dreamt and failed to create a dollar-free world and establish Russia as an “energy superpower.” He allowed corruption to metastasize through the state’s fabric, undermining its security capabilities. With its mass emigration, skyrocketing divorce rate, and low fertility, Russia, more than the West, demonstrates an immense collapse of family and social values.

Russia has nothing but malicious intentions. They are a terrorist state, run by a serial killing desperado. This is a nation so lacking in redeeming qualities. They contributed alot culturally, in past centuries. Now? What are they bringing to the table? How are they of any benefit to mankind? They offer nothing but misery, death, destruction and bad will.
