Two forest rangers from Tad Mok National Park were seriously injured after being attacked by a wild bull (gaur) while patrolling a remote area of the park. The incident occurred around 10:45 on December 8 in a forested region on the border of Phetchabun and Chaiyaphum provinces.

The rangers, Prapan and Anant, were part of a patrol team when they encountered the bull. Prapan sustained severe injuries, including a large gash to his abdomen that caused his intestines to protrude, while Anant suffered a broken right arm. Due to the severity of their injuries, they were unable to be evacuated on foot and immediately called for urgent assistance.

At 14:00, a helicopter from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, along with a Air Doctor team, was dispatched to the scene. Prapan was airlifted first due to his critical condition, and he was taken to Phetchabun Hospital. Anant was rescued shortly after and both rangers were safely evacuated.

The incident took place some distance from the park headquarters, in a location that normally requires a 2-3 day walk to reach. The five-member patrol team had been on duty since December 4. Initial reports suggest the attack occurred as the rangers were performing their routine forest surveillance.

The head of Tad Mok National Park, Ronarat Sirimakorn, confirmed the details, saying further investigation into the exact circumstances of the attack would be conducted once the injured personnel are stable. The priority remains on providing immediate medical care for the rangers.
