Setting up a voicemail greeting with Dtac?

Featured Replies

I just called the Dtac call center and asked them how I would go about recording my own personalized voicemail greeting. The lady told me she didn't think it was possible to do that - my only option would be the standard default Thai voicemail greeting.

The only reason I am posting in here is because she sounded a little unsure of herself. Especially the bit where she said "I don't THINK you can do that".

Is it possible, does anyone know?

I might have some inbound work related calls coming in from potential customers back home I need to divert my Skype number to my Thai number for hours where I may be asleep. It doesn't sound too great, I don't think, if the voicemail is in Thai.

The other problem is that I tried to access my voicemail and was asked to enter a PIN number that I was never previously given - but I can figure that out but calling dtac again, I guess.

Thanks!

A bit of a primitive system. Better to have a number that forwards to an application that you can access anywhere that has Internet. Plus record your own personalised message.

People still use voicemail answering nowadays?

Is there no Skype Voicemail service?

  • 2 weeks later...

My Skype # has the option of either forwarding to other # or voicemail. At least for the time being with the service up in the air at present.

Voicemail used to be free with DTAC. You had to get a 4 digit PIN from a rep, then dial *1802 (or +66991821802) to set up/listen to messages.

But voicemail isn't really a thing here so I think this service has lapsed. Maybe you can pay for it.

Maybe keep trying to contact DTAC - large shop in major mall, Facebook - to see if you can subscribe.
