Visit to get tax ID and disabled certificate today- Waste of time.
This is what I thought of doing as well. Show up in the first weeks in January with a statement from Bangkok Bank showing my 2024 transfers in Thailand. That is the easy part, I think. The hard part, unless Thailand is using an honor system, is showing how much my USA Social Security pension is, as that portion of my income is not assessable. Is this the total amount before Medicare deductions or just the amount deposited into my bank account? So I'll take my annual SS letter with me. My transfers are over this SS amount but less than the total SS exemption amount plus the standard Thai income tax deductions. So I should not owe any tax. I pay taxes on all of my income in the USA and my income is only SS and private pensions. No investment income. My accountant in the USA says any tax I pay to Thailand is deductible from US taxes. -

Proof of address?
Get a yellow house book for aliens with your name in, then you have proof of address for almost everything. The owner of the blue house book, or the registered host or house master, can approve who is permitted to be regikstered in a house book on the property. Check with your local tessa ban-office, what they require for aregistering you in a yellow house book. Normally it would be an approced translation of name page in passport and two witnesses, normally asked for that one witness is a neighbour and another withness is an government employee. -

ALL consulates in S/E Asia switch to online eVisa system effective Jan 1st 2025
I assume you are under 50, or retirement-extensions would be the easy way to go - agent or otherwise. Some of the Cambodian border-run agent reports indicate they charge a premium for those whose current/last entry was a Non-Imm type - was an extra 2K Baht, from memory, in addition to their usual charge. If it were today, I would do a border-bounce at a safe entry point like Nong-Khai / Vientiane. There have been no reports there thus far of any problems. Of course, predicting such SO FAR into the future (15 months - LOL!!) in Thailand is always problematic, given things change on a dime. The DTV may be another option (or not) by that time. -

Continuously monitor/log power quality from AC outlet. What method is cheap and effective?
So you have 3 phase or single phase? If you have 3 phase, is it happening on each phase. If the problem has started in the last month (stronger, variable direction winds) could be bamboo ot trees breifly touching the power lines. PEA will get round to it. If the problem has been going for awhile, get someone to check the tightness of your meter box connection, especially the neutral. Starters -
