Mystery Man’s Body Found Floating in Canal in Nonthaburi

Police from the Sai Noi Police Station, along with rescue workers from the Poh Tek Tung Foundation, responded at 10.30 on December 19, to a report of a body found floating in the water near the mouth of the Masing Canal, Moo 1, Sai Noi Subdistrict, Mueang Sai Noi District. The authorities then coordinated with forensic doctors from the Institute of Forensic Science to examine the scene.

 

Upon arrival, they discovered the body of a man, approximately 40 years old, lying on his back in the water, entangled in water hyacinth. He was wearing a gray short-sleeved T-shirt with English lettering, gray shorts, and gray rubber sandals. The body was recovered and transported to the nearby Sai Noi Temple pier for further examination by medical staff.

 

An initial inspection revealed a large wound on the man’s left upper arm and the right ear had been partially severed. It is believed that he had been dead for around two to three days. No identification documents or valuables were found on the body.

 

Police officials stated that, based on their preliminary investigation, the man may have been a non-local who accidentally fell into the water and was swept away by the current. They noted that the cause of the injuries, whether inflicted by a sharp object or possibly by animal bites, remains unclear. 

 

Further investigations will be carried out with nearby police stations to see if any reports of missing persons have been filed.

 

The body has been transferred to the Institute of Forensic Science for a thorough autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

I got it! It was an accident, how do you explain  "An initial inspection revealed a large wound on the man’s left upper arm and the right ear had been partially severed."?

There does not seem to be much of a current in the picture--that algae stuff is usually found where there is no current.
