Not in my lifetime because I am in my 80's now but before too many decades have passed the world will be governed by oligarchs such as Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg etc .Those with enormous obscene wealth will be able to dictate policy to what is left of democratic government .

Imo this is already the case.

Where have you been the past 24 hours?  Biden already signed another bill passed by the House and the Senate.

A vastly reduced one from the 1800-page padded bill down to a few hundred omitting most of the pork the DEMOS rammed in due to pressure from the public

And also rejected Trump's demand to lift the debt ceiling!

Yes he knew that wouldn't get approved but it allowed the pork to be removed including their ridiculous salary increase

A Strategic play according to those familiar with the process of moving pawns.

Change your news sources for real ones.

" A temporary spending bill scuttled by opposition from President-elect Donald Trump would have made U.S. Congress members eligible for a 3.8% salary increase, not 40%, as suggested in posts online that misinterpret a report on congressional salaries."

He didn't  knew it wouldn't be approved. The bill with removing the debt limit (the second one), as required by Trump, was submitted and rejected.

I see you also got fooled by Musk tweets claiming that the salary increase was 40%. Musk was shamelessly lying, as expected, and you believed him. 😆

And here's one good reason for Musk to reject the first bill:

The spending agreement released Tuesday included a bipartisan provision to limit and screen U.S. investments in China, among dozens of other proposals attached to the 1,500-page bill.

As the CEO and largest stockholder in Tesla, Musk has extensive business connections to China. The company operates a major manufacturing plant in Shanghai and has sought to build deeper connections with Chinese companies.
