School Truck Crash Leaves Multiple Injured in Ubon Ratchathani

A school transport truck veered off the road in Ubon Ratchathani, leaving several injured, including an eight-year-old girl. Emergency services were alerted to the accident via the 1669 hotline on December 20, at approximately 16.30.

 

The incident occurred about 3 kilometres past the Kraso Subdistrict Administrative Organisation (SAO) office in Kraso Subdistrict, Mueang District.

 

Emergency responders rushed to the scene, where they found several injured passengers, primarily schoolchildren. One of the victims, an eight-year-old girl, sustained injuries including a broken left leg pain as well as abrasions across her body. She was promptly transported to 50th Anniversary Mahavajiralongkorn Hospital for medical treatment.

 

Witnesses at the scene reported that the truck driver appeared to lose control before veering off the road into a tree. The crash occurred on a straight stretch of 2 lane highway in dry and sunny conditions.

 

Local authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident. Meanwhile, parents and school officials have been informed, and support is being offered to the affected families.

 

Incidents involving school transport vehicles continue to raise concerns about road safety and vehicle maintenance. This latest incident serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring safe and suitable, reliable transportation for students.
