I'm surprised this story has attracted so much attention. It's nothing new. For at least 100 years- maybe longer- it's been standard practice for U.S. Presidents to appoint wealthy donors and defeated party candidates as ambassadors.   It's a way of rewarding donors and party stalwarts for their service by giving them prestige.

However, the "politically appointed ambassaddors" aren't expected to perform sensitive diplomatic duties.  The deputy chief of mission- the second ranking person at an embassy- is always a career diplomat who handles contacts with foreign governments as well as running the embassy.  The political ambassadors serve as figureheads who represent the U.S. at dinners, public appearances and ceremonial or festive occassions.  The host nations know this and political ambassadors never get involved in sensitive negotiations.

Top of the bill was Biden's triple trip UP a set of air stairs. A stunning feat that will probably never be surpassed.

I don't know...I think the apex of slapstick absurdity was when 45 walked up the steps of Air Force One with a long strand of toilet paper stuck to his shoe.

45 also does a good imitation of a 3-year old drinking from a glass, needing two small hands to hold the vessel.

Who you referring to? Biden is not on the right, <snipped for brevity>

No the guy you referred to as a supporter of trump, Alan Jones, who's facing sexual assault charges

"As per usual, the Guardian is complaining about Trumps appointments"

But hey tell me IN YOUR OWN WORDS BASED ON YOUR RESEARCH, which of his appointeees are "unqualified" and why.

You cant. You just spout crap from Leftist newspapers.

Well covered by numerous credible sources, including The Guardian - not going to play your deflect / deny BS game.

plus a supposed billionaire schlepping golden sneakers,

Sounds like the 6 weeks or so of butt-hurt you developed, after Trump humiliated Kamala in a LANDSLIDE victory Nov 5 is starting to take a toll on you. I have for you, this special video in hopes that it can further enhance your butt-hurt, have a look at the video and let me know your comments, please share will all here and be sure to indicate if you feel better after viewing it. Enjoy. Maybe you can ask around if there is grief/butt-hurt counseling available, or maybe just bust your own video doing the Trump victory dance and post it here. LOL

Maybe Aussies of your socio-economic class, but most world leaders wish they could have had the economic growth the US enjoyed from 2020 until today, along with massive stock market gains.

People of every ilk, however, did laugh at 47 and his "sharks circling a sinking electric boat", "Arnold Palmer's junk", "that great guy Hannibal Lecter", plus a supposed billionaire schlepping golden sneakers, Chinese-printed autographed Bibles, or NFTs of a bloated fat guy pretending to be an astronaut or fighter pilot, in spite of his bone spurs.

Did you like the many rock-star moments of his amazing campaign that cost a measly $480M compared to Kamala's outrageous $1.5B + for anemic woke tweak dancers...did u catch any of it? Did u see Trumps MASSIVE rally at MAGA square gardens....America has never seen a campaign as amazing as Trumps 2024 come-back annihilation of Kamala.

How did Biden do in the CNN debate with Trump back in June? Did he make a total idiot of himself or just an idiot of himself.

How about this fine performance from the mentally unfit Biden. Do you recall the CNN debate where Trump ended Bidens hallucinations about a 2nd term,,,,,have a listen and revert back.

I'll leave your opinion on biden out of it, but no, the world certainly didn't laugh at him.

If they were not laughing at Biden's latest gaffe they were aghast that someone that mentally incompetent could be POTUS.

Pointing out reality and getting a good laugh at 45/47 isn't bitter; it's joyous.

I probably would be bitter if I had failed to benefit from the Biden Economic Boom. Sorry you missed it.

The pathological dislike of Biden caused lots of the MAGAs to miss out on some of the easiest wealth-building opportunities in a long time. For those not self-hobbled, the cash register was ringing almost continuously for 4 years. Thanks, Joe and Kamala, for the embarrassment of riches.
