A crash on Phetkasem Road, Bangkok on December 23, claimed the life of a 25-year-old woman who was riding pillion on a motorcycle. The collision involved a Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) garbage truck and a motorcycle rider working for a delivery/taxi service.

The Ruamkatanyu Foundation received the emergency call and responded to the scene, where they discovered the victim had died instantly. The incident occurred on the stretch of Phetkasem Road heading towards Bang Khae, near Soi Phetkasem 28.

According to the rider, he was preparing to drop off his passenger when a pickup truck clipped his motorcycle, causing it to lose balance. The woman riding pillion fell onto the road and was struck by the passing garbage truck.

The victim’s body will be taken to the Siriraj Hospital Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy before being released to her family.

Police are investigating the incident, with all involved vehicles and drivers being held for further questioning and CCTV being reviewed.
