The president who you sneeringly refer to as “a peanut farmer “ doesn’t have a multiple bankruptcy history . 100 year old ex President Carter was, into his 90s, building affordable housing around Chiang Mai. He and his wife physically and financially contributed to the project.
Somehow I can’t imagine the orange grifter being quietly involved in such philanthropy.
I agree. Dr. Somchai is excellent. I investigated lasik in the US about 15 years ago and was told with my vision I would still need to use glasses either for distance or close-up. Passed on doing it. Came to Thailand in 2010 and spouse and I both had lasik around 2012 with Dr. Somchai. He was able to do my lasik so I had good vision both for distance and close-up. No glasses needed at all. Twelve years later, our vision had deteriorated a bit so we did the Supersight and we're both very happy with the results. Spouse's Supersight was around 250,000 baht and mine was more because I needed a different kind of lens, if I'm remembering correctly.
Just to add to this topic.
We picked one up and are very pleased thus far.
The tyres were pumped up way too far as usual. Once corrected the ride is smooth enough. Re an earlier post of easily steering off line, correcting the tyre pressures eliminated this as well.
The thing that did annoy was the available space between the tyre valve and the spoke-cross(front) or hub(rear). It's a bit of a struggle to squeeze the pump's tube head on, poor design there.
There is an issue around the idea of being able to do bad deeds, but then go to the temple, give some food to a monk, pay to let a bird out of a cage, and all is right with the world.
But, people tend to be less violent in Buddhist countries, certainly in Thailand, so it doesn't quite add up.
