Tour Bus Driver Rams SUV After Heated Argument Over Parking in Pattaya

That was entertaining.  Seen many of these in the USA.  I need to get back to Pattaya.  Been over a year and I miss the place.  Just don't get that type of dynamic in small town Isaan.

3. don’t see why anybody is paying anything in compensation. Surely both have insurance. 🤦‍♂️what am I saying, don’t I know where I am?

You think that the insurers cover the self-employed victim for loss of income?

a) the bus driver, name unknown and only called "Ouan" fled the scene
b) the bus company has no clue, who drove the bus and hence cannot be charged with the damages

Again, again and once more again, a matter of law fine tuning and implementation:
a) the liability remains with the vehicle OWNER and not the driver, i.e. the owner is responsible for any and all third-party damages

b) the vehicle owner needs to stipulate the name of the driver, otherwise the owner is being considered guilty for eventual law enforcements/arrests and court cases

But this is Lalala Land and nothing will happen; the SUV driver though might have a full first class insurance and they might knock on the bus owner's door.

The driver, if ever identified, should be banned for life on any and all driving licenses; it is such maniacs which make driving in this country sooooooo safe!

Problems will worsen due to the recent ban on physical punishment of children by their custodians.

I agree.

Thais especially could really benefit from a good clip around the earhole every now and again!

Some thoughts:

1. lucky the bus driver was only armed with a bus rather than a machete, revolver or machine gun.

2. The bus company may be lamenting the damage to their bus. But it’s their own fault as a result of hiring a complete maniac

3. don’t see why anybody is paying anything in compensation. Surely both have insurance. 🤦‍♂️what am I saying, don’t I know where I am?

I am not so sure malicious damage caused by an immature angry paid driver would be covered by insurance. Hmm... I do hope the company fires the guy though. He does not have the temperment to be a driver responsible for many lives every day. AS does so many paid drivers in cars and bikes these days

This argument would not have happened in Indonesia.

There, every bus has a belt of hot-rolled steel all the way around it, about 2 mm thick, at fender level.

Every other vehicle gets out of the way.

I hope the bus driver was sacked immediately for his road rage, imagine the carnage if he was driving at 100KPH and something happened sparking his road rage,

The Bolt driver should also be removed from his job for blocking/obstructing a entrance way (one of the few things thai drivers are good at)

Bus driver is a complete nutter.

The cause of almost all traffic collisions is the nut holding the wheel.

Contrary to that claim, I have found that a great many Thai drivers seem to excel at a number of things: Running red lights, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving at night with no lights, exceeding the speed limit, overloading their vehicle, driving unroadworthy vehicles, driving whilst impaired through drink and/or drugs, failing to yield to other road users, ignoring pedestrian crossings, having no licence, etc.

So many Thai men are seemingly incapable of keeping their emotions in check. Why are they so childish. It's unbelievable.

And here lies the problem. He is not sorry at all. Like many here, he uses the excuse of having no money to avoid accountability. He wont feel sorry until he's on TV being shamed in front of the country.

Correct.

Another Thai man-child that should not be anywhere near a position of responsibility i.e. driving a bus full of passengers.

It is like putting a 12-year-old child behind the wheel.

Another reason (as if I needed one) to completely avoid having Thai men drive me anywhere.
