snoop1130 Posted Thursday at 09:44 AM Posted Thursday at 09:44 AM Photo via Amarin TV By Petch Petpailin A Thai woman and her foreign husband in Phuket sought help from the police after losing 3 million baht in cash and gold during a home robbery on New Year’s Eve, December 31. The local news Facebook page Phuket Hotnews reported the robbery yesterday, January 1. The theft reportedly occurred in a village on Soi Nayai in the Chalong sub-district, Mueang district, Phuket. The couple discovered the robbery at about 5am after returning home from a new year countdown event. ThaiRath later reported that the Thai woman, Prapasiri, filed a complaint with officers at Chalong Police Station following the discovery. Prapasiri told the police that she and her foreign husband noticed signs of forced entry at the entrance. They rushed to check their safe and discovered it was missing. The safe contained valuables worth 3 million baht, including 1 million baht in cash, 2 million baht in gold necklaces, and their passports. Many Thai netizens speculated that someone close to the couple, or one of them, might have been involved in the robbery. They pointed out that entering houses in the village was not easy and remarked on how peculiar it was that the thief knew about the safe. Police officers conducted an immediate investigation at the couple’s home following the report. However, no updates on the case have been provided. Source: The Thaiger -- 2025-01-02 1

arick Posted Thursday at 10:00 PM Posted Thursday at 10:00 PM They must have been going to a cow market or a cow auction early in the morning that's why they kept the cash like that in their house.
hotchilli Posted Thursday at 11:08 PM Posted Thursday at 11:08 PM Either someone in the know did it, knowing that they had as safe and that the couple were going to be out. Or... inside job?
mdr224 Posted Thursday at 11:27 PM Posted Thursday at 11:27 PM Theyre asking the police to help, the police are probably the ones who did it 1 1 1
ronster Posted Friday at 12:23 AM Posted Friday at 12:23 AM 2 million in necklaces and you can bet they would have been ugly as hell. Must have been a very poor safe as ones I have bought before would take you over a hour to get into with average power tools and would take 2 people to lift it .

digger70 Posted Friday at 12:52 AM Posted Friday at 12:52 AM Thai-foreign couple lose 3 million baht in Phuket home robbery Nice one , No good having a safe that one can just pick up and take away . right? Have a Safe Bolted on/in the wall /Floor . Better put money and gold in the bank. or in a Ice Cream container in the Freezer. 1

I'm guessing that the store where they bought the safe knew about it, possibly also Somchai who delivered it, plus whoever installed it. That's just a guess though..... 🤣🤣🤣

jcmj Posted Friday at 09:59 AM Posted Friday at 09:59 AM Yeah. Something definitely smells fishy. If they were keeping that much in their safe you’d think they’d have a much bigger safe. Sounds like they could have afforded it. Can’t fix stupidity. Dumb and dumber with a possible thief friend or a gambling partner. Hopefully they had a CCTV, but highly doubt that.
