Banged up: Thai prison nightmare exposed by British tourist
Yeah I had to laugh at that. "4 toilets that they had to clean with cold water". Poor snookums. And eating from trays that were washed on the floor. "Waaa - they don't have proper high-temperature, restaurant grade dishwashing machines to wash the food trays." And they had to wash with "little bowls of cold water". You'd think "cold water" would be a luxury in a place with little or no ventilation and definitely no air con. And despite supposedly being broke and in a cramped prison cell he claims they weren't allowed out of except for 1 hour a week, he was living soley of the "small pot noodles" one guy was selling in a corner of the cell. I'm shocked he wasn't able to "bribe the guards to move some prisoners to other cells" and "buy cleaning supplies" and "bring in food" and "send messages to his mum" the way he claimed he'd done in the Pattaya jail. And don't they normally search prisoners and look for contraband - like smart phones ? He claims he got one smuggled in, hidden in a package of baby wipes and then what, hid it in his "prison wallet" when he was transferred to the IDC where they apparently didn't bother searching him (or confiscating his phone if they did search him). I'm starting to think all those movies and books and stories from other prisoners about how bad things are is total fiction ! And he never once mentioned having to fight anyone for anything. I guess that only happens at Bang Kwang ? -

Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell Questioned by Police Following Pro-Palestine Rally
I know the Met comes in for a lot of criticism, but surely if a frail old man like Corbyn can force his way through a police cordon some criticism might well be deserved. -

Thailand's Visa-Free Policy for Chinese Nationals Faces Scrutiny
Hi everyone, let's be honest there's too much chineses in Thailand and they also do business by using nominees. It's good to see a limit. Also to keep Thai culture and what makes thai people what they are. I came back to Chiang Mai after 10 years of absence and it's way different. the balance of a society is when a foreign community does not take over the one that welcomes it. e.g. In France we have too much muslim from north Africa even Asian, i mean asian tourists ask where the french people are !! -

Nazism is back
I don't know, Nazism arose from deep poverty, excessive restoration payments and deep national humiliation after WW1. I don't think Trump or Musk can deliver in the same way Hitler did shortly after gaining power which turned the financial well being and psyche of the nation around 180 degrees. Trump is a last gasp of a failing empire, the world has changed but Trump refuses to accept it even though reality constantly raises its head. Musk is in it for the money and prestige (as if he didn't have enough), I don't see him having any ideology, good or bad....it's all about Musk. Americans are often viewed as naive with a limited view of the outside world, I think it's fair to say that the average American can't match the sophistication of European citizens and are easily led but they are a fair people and apart from the red necks they are an empathetic and tolerant people. The coming months and years will be harsh and people will voice their anger and dissatisfaction fueled by Trumps lies but although lies run halfway around the world before truth has got its boots on, truth eventually catches up.
