British Holidaymaker, 28, Dies in Motorbike Crash in Thailand: Twin Pays Tribute
Yes, they enforced that system during Covid for the Thailand Pass and it worked well, so it's possible. It shouldn't even be possible to set foot on Thai soil without an insurance that covers you for everything, even dumb things, from a selection of Thai government-approved providers. -

4M baht taxable?
The poster has given you the answer, all you need to do is read it. With respect, if you're considering such drastic measures as leaving the country, just get your own professional advice....... When you do, please share, as this poster has done, and I bet it'll back up the same answer. -

Revenue Department boss calls on tax residents in Thailand to file 2024 returns by March 31
Its not what they can do its what there going to make you do, we have to make them understand, they will always start at the point of least residence for them, they go by the book, if its not a clear case then you the tax payer will be required to supply reams of paper work most likely transcribed to Thai etc etc etc. Then what they miss today if your still on there shores and as they slowly catch up cause we the expat are easy/soft sitting targets, you might get a please explain letter or email one day, you want to stop thinking they are incompetent if you been living here long enough you should know what Thais are like with money. -

It was just soooooo enjoyable watching Harris read out the confirmation of Trump as POTUS.
I'm sure that she still believes he is a fascist but there is nothing in the constitution about a way for a VP to avoid the peaceful transfer of power if the voters happen to elect a fascist. -

Controversial Remarks of Muslim Council UK Candidates Surface Amid Leadership Race
Who says you can't. There isn't a specific law against Islamophobia, unless it comes under the category of 'hate speech' which includes other religions too. -

Yep... thats true.. 'of insurance companies'... thought, given the option to pay into the Thai Public health care system might be a solution... Just throwing out suggestions as part of a discussion. - Every arrival pays into the 'National Health Care' - that provides them emergency cover - Nothing changes for those who want their own private Health care. Something like this has already been floated with a nominal fee of 300 baht - of course, the logistics seem tricky, but it prevents these issues. Ultimately though, its not Thailands fault if tourists can't pay for their health care, but doing so with such a scheme would put a very positive spin on tourism from the 'we look after tourists' angle. -
