Bangkok Bank pays a little bit of interest annually.  They also charge some tax or fee, also.

They have a branch in New York City.  It's an American bank. 🇺🇸

Not really it's a Thai Bank based in New York. A transfer my money there from the states and goes to my Bangkok Bank and Bangkok as a domestic transfer rather than international

What gets me is even if they pay some interest, you find Thais are getting paid more...... Racism and double standards

There are some banks that restrict certain accounts to Thais only.  Sometimes those pay more interest but often they only have some other non-monetary benefits.

SCB do but the interest rates are poor 🍻

SCB does have the EZ Savings account that pays 1.5% on daily balance up to 2M.  The interest is paid every month on the 25th.  There is no bank book for that account.  CM Immigration did accept it when I used it to hold the funds required for my annual extensions.

I just got off the phone to Krungthai bank service canter to ask why the bank hasn't paid any interest. I was informed that Krungthai doesn't pay interest on savings accounts to foreigners. Are there any banks that pay interest to savings accounts held by foreigners?

SCB, Krungsri, Kasikorn to name but three.
