My Thai Tax Office Tax Filing Experience...
Sheryl, I just came back this afternoon from a meeting with the tax staff at Thomas Carden's office in Bangkok. I'm not arguing or claiming their advice is correct, and other tax advisers have agreed with your position. But Carden's office is claiming they have confirmed with the TRD legal staff the interpretation that for an expat to claim Thai tax exemptions for things like U.S. Social Security & government pensions under the DTA or pre-2024 savings under the TRD policy, that the expat supposedly needs to file a zero income Thai tax return and then attach a statement specifically claiming the pertinent exemptions and the related amounts brought in. Again, I'm not saying that's correct or accurate. Just reporting the advice they're giving out. -

Farage’s Reform UK Surges as Tory Voters Defect in Droves
I believe that the views of Eloquent Pilgrim are held by the majority of the indigenous UK public . Starmer is running scared to the extent of messing with local councils , thus delaying many by elections in May , knowing full well Labour would lose many at the expense of the Reform party . Changing the local councils way of running is to gain control of planning which will result in massive uproar and opposition from the UK population . Rayner is promising 1.5 million new homes within the 5 year tenure of this unpopular government . These homes will be built in not only in towns but also rural villages . These homes will be a mix of houses and flats that will also be used to house many immigrants . -

Krungsri name mobile number
I got the same message from Krungsri then called AIS who confirmed the same name and Passport details, Krungsri has, then suggested I call Krungsri, their answer, go to AIS and get a certificate confirming the name and number matches, then take that to a branch. Not convinced this is what's required when nothing needs to change and like you, I suspect the same message may have gone to everyone, maybe not all in one day. -

Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
Japan expects 40 million tourists in 2025. Long term expats (aka digital nomads) are making serious money in Japan. Japan.... one of the most unfriendly, xenophobic and anal countries on the planet. Buh bye tourism if they dare to hassle even 1 retired mug in Thailand. The news spreads fast, just like with Chinese kidnapping. It will all be a misunderstanding. I wouldn't listen to any loser here advising to file unless you have a work permit or rent out a property.
